this will be the 7th tooth i will be extracting from my messed up mouth... will have 8th because got another tooth with cracks. and 2 more needs to be pulled out for implants, so total, including 4x wisdom tooth that i removed during NS for nearly 4 weeks of "MC" done during my final 6 months of "ORD life"

today going to try this JB dental clinic for extraction, need x-ray too, i will be using the x-ray for a consult on a Chennai dentist for implants, i'm still doing research, but for the number of implants i need to have done, it's at least 5x cheaper to have them done as a medical cost refugee...

i fractured yet another tooth, i know this tooth has a crack, when dentist update my chart, always hear them report 2 teeth with cracks...

hopefully, JB dentist have the good painkillers (opiate based)

had been deciding if i wanted to go back to SG polyclinic to extract my tooth, last few regular visits were at the Marsling MRT, Woodlands Polyclinic.

looking at their charges, even with Blue Chas card subsidy, i will have to spend more effort to extract my tooth in Sg, so i'll try JB and review it. IINW, after a prolonged no visit to the dentist, poly clinic will charge 1st consultation fee again, x-ray i know mine needs, too many messed up teeth and extraction of the fractured tooth.

nice view, RM150 for pre molar extraction, all in. X-ray RM60 optional.

RM30 for Tramadol 50MG, RM10 for normal NSAID

i asked for tramadol :ROFLMAO:

Doctor most gentle i have had and this is my 7th tooth extraction.

very nice guy, made an effort to remove all the fragments of my fractured tooth. Gave a discount because there were bits left. other option is to open up the gum, which he don't recommend and i agree. Not my first rodeo, which is also why i also ask for the good painkillers...

a little disappointing that My and Sg same, only up to Tramadol for tooth extraction, USA more relaxed, can get Hydrocodone, but US also give out Hydro like candy

Overall, i would recommend, 3 chair setup, clean enough to get the job done. There is a difference vs polyclinic, but i don't deem those as value adding for the price difference. Not to mention the wait times. I was the only one there, walk-in.

but as i left, got a parent bring in their little one for what looks to be like a routine checkup.

oh, woah, the next day after extraction, i definitely highly recommend this dentist.

there is almost no wound, i haven't had the desire to feel the wound with my tongue because the extraction was done very gently. Now that i think back, i only remembering hearing one very tiny ripping sound throughout the entire extraction. barely any blood the very few times i rinsed.

i did tell the doc when i was making payment that he was the most gentle out of my 7 extractions.

Not possible to have root canal/crown?

having went through i RCT, i didn't want to have to go through another one.

have another molar with the same cavity problem, same opposite tooth as my RCT.

over time, i have also bitten into many small hard foreign objects in the food that i eat during my international street food adventures.

i read somewhere that teeth might be genetics and i'm a grinder when i sleep, less now.

having implants are cool, it brings me 1 step closer to becoming a cyborg, soon, i will have titanium inside my body assisting me with daily tasks :ROFLMAO:

Currently i have 4 tooth with fillings. Sensitivity getting bad. Dentist said tooth can be saved. So may go for RCT/Crown. Going to cost a bomb if were to be done with all four tooths. :(

May i know why u decided not to proceed with another RCT?

it sounds conspiratorial, but dentist needs to keep current with their training,

the traditional, before implants were medically viable or practical due to costs, dentist's first priority is to "save the tooth"

a tooth is a solid structure, supposed to withstand the bite force, any attempts at "fillings" to save the tooth, is just delaying the inevitable.

when you listen to your dentist update your tooth chart, i'm sure almost everyone will have heard that they have at least 1 hairline crack, unless you have gone through your entire life so lucky as to have never bitten into something hard in your food.

RCT weakens the tooth, crown to extend it's life, crown can also fall off, teeth and gum are forever changing as you age.

i will soon follow up on my india dental adventures, it should be of a lot of help to those with simliar tooth conditions like me.

yours only 4, i have 2 doubles and 2 single implants that i need so i can eat again...

wisdom tooth all gone, replaceing the 2 doubles, 1 single, the other single is for the other hairline crack i have somewhere, not sure exactly which tooth.

You still will grind with or without implants - getting a mold?

don't grind as much now, yeah, after the implants, getting the sleep guard and everything.

gonna be spending a nice chunk of change to have my teeth fixed, so can i eat like a barbarian again :ROFLMAO:

possibly looking at braces too to straighten out some 2 crooked incisor/canine

might as well get everything fixed. i wish we were like sharks, with regenerating teeth

from what my classmate told me, they provide 20 years warranty.

i might go for the newer tech, Zirconia implants with Zirconia crowns

WTF is wrong with my country? Is this what happens when health care is a business and not a service...

But the dentists that I will be visiting are all "private business" so how Is it possible that the Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scan costs SGD100 - $11 for CHAS blue subsidy and the dentist in JB charges RM100 for the same schit?

You can go polyclinic route for cheaper.

in any case, you cannot pick n choose what you like about one country and don’t like and mix and match.

doesn’t work that way.

things are like that for a reason

I think polyclinic will be almost the same as private, polyclinic will charge me for a consultation then the scan.

The subsidies are the same.

don't get and we probably shouldn't subscribe to conspiracy and just think logically and rationally.

people thought they can want high quality of life but want to put less for stuff. it doesn't work that way. cannot pick and choose.

well, there must be a reason why there's such a regulation right.

diff countries have diff regulation with diff consideration.

who's right and who's wrong?
