have you ever seen the police doing spot checks in PLQ or lucky plaza, asking maids to q up and show card? unless there's reason to suspect a crime, foreign workers are under the jurisdiction of mom. the police are already overworked. they must have strong reason to suspect a maid had committed an offense under laws within their jurisdiction eg penal code, before they will stop and ask her to show card. otherwise which police is so free to waste their time helping mom to do their jobs? mom got their own enforcement officers. all the ministries have their own set of laws and enforcement team

You should never safekeep your helper's work permit or passport, as this is against the law and regulations. Your helper is required to keep their work permit with them at all times for identification.

Government really need to come in for these type of things.
They need to make it illegal for loansharks to chase loans to people who are not related to the person
even if the residential address is given.

once you do that, the loan shark is the one who have to gatekeep themselves.
if they loan to maid, they face the consquence of irrecoverable debt.
