But there is really nothing much in Shenzhen except for swanky malls. I really do love Macau, it is a mixture of old and new. Their old town area is like HK of 20yrs back. Then they got mega casinos hotels resort.

I only went SZ half day…hopped over from HK.

So the food in Shenzhen I go based on YouTube recommendation

Overall SZ I don’t rate veey highly except for shopping and wide variety of international food

Ya... Not highly rated. Not much except 椰子鸡 consider sz original..

Even then it is a very Hainan thing with the coconuts and the 文昌鸡 from the island

My HK ex colleagues recommended me to eat at Tsui and Fresh in SZ . 脆 鲜 生 脆 鲩 鱼 火 锅 ～ ®

So the normal mundane grass carp if fed with a special diet of fava beans for more than 4 mths transform the meat texture into something really QQ until crunchy. While crispy grass carp 脆 鲩 鱼 costs more than normal grass carp, it is still much cheaper to eat in China than Sg.

( I only know the nice folks at Qi Lai Feng 齐来丰鱼庄 in Sg that imports Crispy grass carp on their menu , if you know of others that are good pls share )

It's different from 酸菜魚.

酸湯魚 ish fermented tomato base.

Many equate both but they are not the same.

I was in Shenzhen for half a day.

I crossed over from HK as a day trip.

I did go 华强北 see see due to its infamous name, though personally not interested in technology.

BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

Big complex 3x the size of sim lim but only the ground floor is lively.

As I go further up, wah most shops are dead.

Selling nonsense like don't know what voice changing device etc.

Most shop owners sit there swatting flies.

I even see some set up table play poker cards drink tea like our RC.

华强北 is quite big..not every complex is prosperous/popular..lol
I did see some interesting products when I was there..
Anyway, if you r going to SZ again and have any spoilt Apple products, can consider to bring over for repairs..will save a lot
