Bought A70 for my wife. I say its worth comparing to her S7 Edge.

1 problem though. Anyone A70 having problems with Win10? Can detect the phone but folder is empty for both phone and card or can open both drives and not all folders shown so cannot transfer anything vice versa. Usually no problem with any android phones. My S9+ no issue and even my mum's Redmi Note 7 also no issue, can click and drag files. Anyone? Pls help! Tks

Good news, the new A series seem to be bootlock friendly. That means the devices can be unlocked and custom recovery install is possible.

I think Samsung is serious in taking on the China players. In fact, I may even switch back (since Note 8) after going to Xiaomi.

Samsung Galaxy A-Series Sold 2 Million Units in 'Just 40 Days' in India

Taking on Chinese player Xiaomi big time, South Korean tech giant Samsung sold two million phones in its mid-price segment Galaxy A-series in India in just 40 days starting March 1, earning a revenue of $500 million.

Samsung is targeting $4 billion (roughly Rs. 27,700 crores) in revenues from its Galaxy A series of phones this year.

Earlier this month, it announced Galaxy A20, its fourth smartphone in the Galaxy A series this year. Galaxy A20 is available in India at Rs. 12,490.

In March, Samsung launched the Galaxy A10 at Rs 8,490, the Galaxy A30 at Rs.16,990 and the Galaxy A50 in two variants - one at Rs. 19,990 and the other at Rs. 22,990.

"In the first 40 days starting March 1, we have sold a total of two million units of three Galaxy A models in India - A50, A30, and A10. The revenue turnover from these three phones in 40 days is $500 million," Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Samsung India, told IANS on Monday.

"I think this a record for any brand in the industry," Singh added.

"When the rest of the portfolio in A series becomes available, we are sure of not only achieving but exceeding our target," the Samsung executive said, adding that the Galaxy A-series phones will continue to be available across the channels - both online and offline.

Samsung India is now gearing up to launch the Galaxy A70 smartphone with triple camera system next week and the Galaxy A80 with rotating camera in May.

"We will launch the Galaxy A70 in India next week in Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 30,000 bracket and the Galaxy A80 in the Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000 bracket in May," Singh said.

Samsung earlier announced that it would launch at least one phone every month from March to June this year.

Just got my A50 today after selling off my Mi 9.
I am pleasantly surprised. This is such a good deal asides from this being slightly slower than all the flagship I've used.

The one ui is almost as good as oneplus oxygen os and no longer like the atrocious touchwiz os by Samsung years ago.

The onscreen fingerprint scanner is rubbish even though I've registered the same thumb thrice.

Wow A70, can be my new phablet to replace mi max 3.

Not considering Mi Max 4?

Mid range will always sell well in India, so those numbers don't apply to other countries. They are value conscious consumer and makes very considered purchasing decisions, their market and salary also another factor to consider.

They love these Chinese brand models like poco f1, mi 9, k20, OnePlus 6T/7 that provide flagship performance at mid range price. Their import tax on those flagship make the already expensive phone cost even more compare to other countries is also reason why iPhone and Galaxy S series don't sell that well there.

Quote: Apple’s struggle in India is a reflection of the reality that most Indian users cannot afford to buy an iPhone,” Schneemann added.

For us, we buy flagship like iPhone XS, Galaxy S10, Google Pixel 3XL cause we have the purchasing power. The question is are we willing to fork out the cash to buy an expensive flagship or not. The answer is always yes when you look at the queue of iPhone, P30 and Galaxy S10. Haha.

If you notice Indians they usually use cheap phones. That’s what I see and noticed.

Even if they use iPhones, also don’t see them using iPhone X and above

For me I only use flagships cause I game on mobile devices so I cannot afford to use mid range phones as it will lag a lot

Flagships these days are over engineered, over spec and overpriced for most ppl. Mid tier is the way to go

Mid range phones are only good if you use it to surf web or watch movies or play games which are not so graphics intensive.

Most of my friends and colleagues, all using flagship. Only like 20% use mid range

Please advise where you get it from.

Aliexpress. Search for Rugged Shield Case Samsung A70. As for screen protector just get any. Be warned that those full type with black border will cover up the edges including the top and bottom so best to get non-full type.
