As you mentioned you have mini2, this model has no USB slave port therefore it cannot be connected via USB to your PC to do file transfer.
In terms of network to USB or USB to USB file transfer, it should push through and be completed. Unless the files have some errors. Like for example when you transferring batch of files using a PC sometimes it will ask you to skip a file because it failed to copy and sometimes if there's an error on the file the PC will prompt some error message. All of this is not showing when you used the player to copy files and it will just stop. This is why you have some issue.

I used to able just plug in my portable hdd to mini 2 and copy the files over, but recently not sure what went wrong, it will only copied a 2-3 movies instead of the whole list I selected, say 10. When I try to copy again, it will again stop after copying 2-3 movies. Have no idea how to solve this.
