Hi ACeRyan, the audio and video are totally out of sync in your video link.
That means the playback on veolo 4k is dropping a lot frames and it can't keep up with playing back at 60fps in 4k.
Please try to playback the link below in low resolution to understand how much it is lagging in frames.
The dance movement should be fast and smooth, not in slow motion.

I'm moving house and I intend to leave my current android Tv (Micox) for my folks to use, the micox has been rather good w/o much issues but I would like to give the Ac Ryan Veolo a try cos it really looks damm nice! but besides the looks, can anyone of you tell me its USP and the user experience...cos its about $80 price difference, i want to make sure it is really worth the money!

Hi Guys,

I bought the Veolo player recently at Sitex but am still trying to figure out how to use it. I have a few questions for the more experienced hardwarezoners out here. Does the KODI (SMBC) work for you? Whenever I go to system or videos, it hangs / freezes. Is there any VOD app which you guys use efficiently? Most apps I have are laggy and mostly chinese movies. Not sure if its just me but some apps load on default when I on the player, any idea how to stop these from auto startup?

I think it has nothing to do with the player, alot of the apps there are quite laggy ...I been playing ard with KODI for awhile and so far only GENESIS is good...in fact that's my only KODI app.

Hi, recently i change my av receiver to the pioneer SC-LX 87.
connecting the veolo 4K via HDMI but only picture showing??
there is no sound?

is there any firmware that can fix this issue?

How to play 1080p vid on youtube

I am trying to play 1080p/4K videos from youtube but can only select up to 720p on Veolo. The android version is 4.2.2. The youtube app is the lastest. Are there any setting that i am missing?

Just bought a used Veolo 4k to replace my xiaomi gen 3. No high expectations but purpose is to solve the xiaomi flash memory issue. Just to share some first impressions.

1. The previous owner din not upgrade firmware, so the v1.0 was really quite raw. The first thing I did was to upgrade the firmware to 1.8.5. It was a breeze with simple instructions. The new version is much better.

2. Second observation is the performance. The Veolo is really fast compare to the xiaomi, with superior hardware specs esp the 2G Ram and 16G Flash, where xiaomi on have 1G Ram and 4G Flash.

3. Build quality wise, I would say xiaomi seems to be better assembled and have a nicer design (personal opinion), but again veolo have more usb and sd card ports, more practical.

4. Downloading the Veolo 4K skin now, the screenshots looks great. Will update again.

My honest reason why I DO NOT recommended because of mini hdmi port used. Until today after more than 8 months, I still can't find a 2m or 3m HDMI to Mini HDMI version 2.0

The Ethernet port is f**k up. WiFi is faster than Ethernet in the latest firmware v1.8.6 (comes with my box).

hi guys, i had just brought the veolo 4k. Sorry outcast as i went ahead to get myself the player. But SADLY, im adding up to one of those very disappointed customers also. After playing with the setting and trying all the apps.

1stly, the player is incapable of playing any 4k videos. 4k videos play via video app, is totally slow motion and audio out of sync. I have tried with a 300+ mbytes 3 min long video in order not to stress load the player and to my disappointment, the player cant render the video at all.

2ndly, if i manage to bluff myself to accepting slow motion and out of sync audio. The video are totally pixelated. ok, im exaggerating, but it is just not clear it looks like a 720p.

3rdly, the youtube app is only capable of playing 720p video hence whats the point of declaring the player as 4k player which unable to load the most simple video app to play 4k video. and i cant even determine the clarity of the player able to produce.

The player is capable.. only the apps that are not stable and it happened to me too..
I don't have a 4K TV, but have you try to use Kodi?

So far for me, as long I mapped the movies folder in Kodi first..
Than i load all the movies via Kodi.. super smooth and better than those player I tried.
