We did a check on version 1.1.6 and verified that this version has no genuine problems to cause lag in the Android system, after running loading/unloading tests on it.

We would like to know if you may have quite a number of apps running in the background coupled with memory hogging widgets and/or Live Wallpaper?

Basically in 1.1.6 version we have added in Google Maps, together with the supporting apps like Latitude and such, and they are needed to run in the background when the system boot up. But these do not take up excessive memory to lag the Android system, but of course it would also be an add-on factor to cause more lag on an already lagging system.

You can also try installing this free app from the Play Store call "Quick System Info Pro", where you will be able to see the load on your processor and memory loading, as well as it provides a static widget to quickly release memory and cache.

Users reporting lag in the system may want to try out the above app and let us know if the CPU and/or Memory usage are always on all time high levels during normal usage?

If users are still having problem updating firmware after following ur online instructions, and you say your there is no problem with your firmware, then the problem should lies in the hardware. So are you prepare to do a 1-to-1 exchange if that is the case, or are users going to be stuck with their lemon? :s8:

Nope they are non-flash websites, stuff even like yahoo and as someone mentioned facebook are super laggy. It will try to open the page and hang there without any indication. And of course it gets worse when you open more than 3 tabs.

Previously when upgrading to X.14 version from X.12 using the online update, I had some issues too, where during installation I would be prompted that the response is taking too long and if I would like to stop it. In the end, the installation process went smoothly after I killed all the existing apps, and also I had to keep touching the screen once in a while to make sure that it doesn't go into lock mode.

Actually to prevent the screen from early time-out, you can also go to Settings > Display > Sleep and then set a longer time before the tablet goes to sleep and lock the screen.

It is an Android system design to actually put the WiFi adapter to power idle mode when the tablet goes to sleep, thus disconnecting the connection and breaking the firmware download.

There is an alternative solution to this tho, you can also find this free app call "Wi-Fi Keep Alive" which will always keep your WiFi adapter on even during sleep mode. But of course doing so will cause your tablet to consume more power during sleep mode, no matter you are downloading or not... :s22:

Not actually defending ourselves here, but just stating the possibilities leading to the problem faced by users. But of course if your problem is still unresolved by the solutions I've posted, you can always call our service centre for further assistance and whether we would recommend that you bring down your tablet to us for a check.

Most of the time issues can be resolved over the phone or email, thus you do not need to make a wasted trip to us.

And as long as the product is within warranty, we could do service/replacement for you subjected to our service terms and conditions/policies. :)

ACR,
Are u implying sites with heavy on Flash cannot be surf on the tablet?
Are u not aware that nowadays site are heavily running on flash, and most tablet built should benchmark this as a design factor.

So in future we have to avoid visiting this site?
Yahoo homepage are heavily running on flash?

I am only asking you for more details before we can look into the problem. I'm not sure in what way has my previous reply misinterpreted this to you causing your reaction as such? :s11:

In any case, my main concern is to know the current processor/memory load of your tablet when the lag occurs, and as I mentioned in earlier post this data could be seen if you install a system app like "Quick System Info Pro".

Also if you refer to the same post, I have already mentioned the lag is not caused by the new firmware version 1.1.6, but the added Google Map and it's side apps will consume nonetheless a small memory allocation as these services are started on boot up.

So a number of factors consuming the 1GB memory is important to know here. In order for us to find out the main cause of the lag you are experiencing.

ACR,
Since Day 1 i rec the tablet , browser is sluggish , at times application hang while loading, it was before u had google map update. at that point of time not many application is install.

After few update of your firmware it is still sluggish, i would say some improvement in the loading of application.

when i powerup the tablet i had to wait for sometime to start using and at time it was slow, freeze and not responsive. Kind of a mini-laptop running on window vista ....

Is it normal or is my set faulty?
Maybe you can advise.

think ipad can throw away liao.

anyway, just regard on flash issue. until now alll the android tablet in market don haf a better solution for flash yet apple give up to support flash due to web surfing experience.

current browser had offer some solution to resolve the issue...
1)browser will lookup for website for mobile, user visit the site without flash plugin.
2)browser will disable the flash animation or etc, they only played when user request to do so.

as we know, android always bad in resource manage there is reason you need task killer. at the same time, google keep trying to enhance on this area.

visiting flash site very depend on hardware s
specification. don know you guys got this exp duing the school time or ns time, you using the pc play fb flash game in comp lab but it lag and delay like no tml one.

now situation is those developer fine tune the process or method through software basic base on whatever hardware the tablet haf.

hopefully tablet can release the 2gb version, then everyone can enjoy better exp on flash.

Bro, probably for your case you may want to bring down your tablet to us for a check? From the description of your problem it does not look the usual characteristics of our tablet operation, so it could be a fault elsewhere than the firmware itself.

But before you make the trip down, I am thinking of asking you to try doing a restore default of your system, since your tablet is now updated to the latest version 1.1.6, but of course if you do so you will lose all data and apps inside the tablet, so be sure to back them up before proceeding.

Purpose of restoring back to factory defaults will ensure a fresh system and thereafter you can try to populate back your apps again from the Play Store, and then try using the tablet again to see if the lag is gone or better-improved.

If the lag problem persists, please give us a call during our office hours to speak with any of our Product Specialist to relate the problem to us and to check the availability of a replacement before deciding to come down to our service centre?

And probably the reason why Adobe is now replacing good old Flash to HTML5... :s8: Too resource hungry and also Flash support for Android is still not optimized for smooth animation. Food for thought? :s8:
