acca not getting recognised? ??

I hv completed acca after my diploma studies, however it seems acca is not getting recognised as emploers feel that acca is not equivalent to degree. When ppl ask me wat is my highest qualifications, I said acca after my poly studies. To them, I only hv diploma.i felt so sad.
Should I get degree now?? Btw, I hv cpa sg

even the new Singapore QP framework doesn't recognized ACCA. For ppl with ACCA or other non-recognized degrees, they have to take a foundation programme.

unless you plan to work in a foreign firms. Most HR in Singapore do not consider ACCA.

ACCA is a professional qualification, but it is certainly not a degree. You're not considered a university graduate to HR.

However, you already have CPA SG !

Which firm are you working with ? Any accounting firm would surely take you in.

Yes & No..

The requirement to enroll into the foundation programme is a university degree. This means currently, non-degree + ACCA members are not even able to enroll into the foundation programme at all.

However, ACCA and SAC have signed the letter of intent and are working towards arrangement for Reciprocal Membership. The details for this arrangement is not yet out, and that is causing some uncertainty.

The speculation is that new ACCA members will likely have to go through a modified / simpler version of the Singapore QP for the membership.

Outside of accounting firms, ACCA & your CPA is admittedly not that useful.

Since u are an experienced hire, i would think that it is your working experience that weigh more than qualification in your job search.

Other factors that they look at is the duration you stay in a job... if some companies are really particular, then they will look into the number of years u took to get your ACCA.

No offense...but so far, based on the interviews i went, none consider me as diploma even though i only have ACCA.They are more concerned whether i have the skills to handle the JD.

if you think that it is the qualification that hinder you, probably you just take 1 year degree lo haha..

As a full member of CPA Australia and ACCA, I have taken both their professional examinations and can give some insight. I am not sure about the ICPAS Professional Examinations but ACCA professional examinations are much more tougher than CPA Australia due to its breadth and depth of the knowledge covered.

In a way, you are right in the recognition of CPA Singapore as compared to CPA Australia. However, an interesting fact is that CPA Singapore is in the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) while CPA Australia is not. I believed CPA Australia has more membership than CPA Singapore worldwide but I think with the new Chartered Accountant designation and program, the Singapore Accountancy Commission would want to change that and improve the quality of the accountancy profession.

Ya. not sure why they place so much emphasis on the duration to complete acca as it does not measure accurately on one capability...but somehow, they are included in one of the factors when considering the candidates.. haha my CEO is one of them haha.

Those studied part time took longer time to complete it. If enquiring e duration to.compete it, it doesn't justify.
What is e minimum months to stay in a job before switching
