hi xxjamboreexx..
P3 alot of theories ah? does that mean if P3 take with P7 will be super heavy workload.. cos of the theory?
option papers are P6, P7. if P7 and P3 too much theory, then i will change to P6 with P3.

I try to balance a mixture of heavy paper with less heavy ones. and i try NOT to take papers that are back to back but bear in mind that you are not allow to take optional papers without completing the level 3 core papers, same goes for level 2 papers must be completed before level 3 ones. But do check the eligibility carefully. Ultimately know your strength and weakness and try to maintain a balance when you choose the papers to take.
P3 is a pure theory paper, it is a continuation of F1. Despite it seems to be easy, there are lots to learn and absorb since the syllabus is very wide.
P6 is 90% theory and 10% calculation, calculations are usually fairly simple as it is to support the tax advice, but advanced taxation is a killer paper.
P7, I personally never take this paper, but audit is most probably all theory with very or no calculations. But do check the syllabus or check with the lecturers.
hi,i will take f8 f9 p1 in july at kaplan,,,but i feel so sad that saminathan will leave!
i have never tried sami's class before, and then many of my friend told me that sami is great! then i decide to go for sami next term but he disappears!!
will he go to lsbf? but as a international student, i don't think i can switch to lsbf easily....
i really feel regretful not taking sami's f5,,,i took elaine instead, painful!!! for f7 i took roy, he was quite ok.
for f8,,nicholas or helena?
f9 how is ng meiyen?
p1,how is andy tan?

huh?? why the exodus from kaplan? It's not just Sami. Yvonne, Domnic and Roy are also gone and I'm afraid that more will follow... What is going on???![]()
Honestly, I guess once the confidence is established for a particular lecturer it would be hard to go to another person. I am personally inclined to follow the lecturer rather than the school. I really like the study environment in Kaplan rather than some other schools. But honestly the facilities and amenities can only go that far. It still comes down to how well delivered the lecture is and how the lecturer is gonna engage the student and motivate them.
I heard some comments from friends that took other 'not too popular' lecturers in Kaplan and they were rudely disappointed with their delivery. So as much as Kaplan promises that their new batch of lecturers are experience and would be able to be as good as those great lecturers that have left recently, I felt it is very market gimmicky, students are at the losing end ultimately.
Kaplan do not have the final responsibility or rather the students pay the price for incompetent lecturers. Anyway its still too early to tell whether the new ones are good or not, comments from students who enrolled with the new lecturers would prove whether Kaplan indeed do what they say they do. I believe in giving the new lecturers a chance, but honestly I really don't like to take that chance.

i love the environment at kaplan too.. but i would go for the lecturer instead of the school. afterall, i am already quite comfortable with the lecturer's teaching style. imo, i dont feel good going through a new lecturer and spend time getting used to his/her teaching style, unless the lecturer i am going for is not teaching
which papers are u doing?
