Hello,

I have question on F6, TAX.

For Tax deductible, how should we deal with bad debt? I only know that no adjustment is needed for provision BD. That is to say, it is deductible. However, I am not sure about the following.

1) How about Specific BD.
2) Specific and Provision BD that realise
3) BD recovered.

Regards.

2)If it is a general provision, tax dont recognised it. hence, it is not deductible. Adj = u need to add back the amount. Spec prov ish deductible, hence no adjustment.

3) Bad debt recovered. If it is a trade bad debt, then it was deducted in the past. Now e debt is recovered, hence it must be taxable .No adjustment needed
If it is non-trade, then deduct it.

1) I Dont know what is specific BD? i only know specific provision and general provision. If u meant to written trade bad debt off against its provision, Both are deductible as it is trade debt.
Against Specific prov, u dont have to do any adj as u have already done so when doing specific prov. Against general prov, u have to make adjustment(deduct it), as u havent deduct b4.

DUN FLAME ME IF IM WRONG +(

Thinking of taking the F6 paper (tax) this june, but seems like its a little late to catch up. If i fail in june, will the textbook for june 09 be usable for Dec 09 exam?

Anyone currently studying in Kaplan? Might be asking for too generous a favor, but if anyone is, can he or she help me ask the lecturer if the F6 text for June 09 is usable for Dec 09? (yup, 2009)

Hi all,

I'm doing self-study for P1 for Jun 2009 exam.
Now pondering which lecturer's revision class should I sign up.
Should I go for Roy Goh's class or Chee Hay Keong's class?? Never attended their lessons before, hence appreciate advice :)

Btw, for those taking P3 revision, I would strongly recommend Mr Mohd Nageb from SAA.
His revision notes are comprehensive, and his mindmaps are superb, good for last min revision. Personally, I like his interactive teaching style, as I benefitted from those intelligent questions asked by those diligent and intelligent classmates :)
I self-studied for this paper, and with the help of his useful notes, I managed to pass the paper in Dec 08 sitting :)

Hi everyone :s12:

I'm actually confused about some issue on MFA & CBE, hope you guys can help out.

1) I'm from singapore, and from what i see from the forum, there's actually supposed to be a
MFA/F2 SGP varient. So should i register for the SGP or the INT varient? And another problem
is the BPP study text i got is for the INT as i cant find any BPP study text for SGP varient, is
there any ideas where i can get one?

2) In order to take CBE for any of the 3 papers, do i still need to fill in my exam entry for ACCA or
do i just need to find a CBE centre and register with them in order to take the exam?
Exam fees to ACCA + Fees to CBE centre = take CBE exam OR, Fees to CBE centre = take CBE exam?

Hope i didn't make it too confusing
And Thanks in advance! :D

Hi, I would like to ask if you are self studying with SAA or FTC's P1 and P3 notes? AP Chee is good for P1 I heard..

There seems to be another lecturer for P3 that's good, however, I cannot remember his name suddenly.

Are there any papers for Level 2 that we can self-study? Or is it better to attend classes?

For ACCA CBE Exams for F1 to F3
The centre that offers CBE Exam I know of is FTMS and SAA
If u are already ACCA student member with ACCA number.
You jus need to go to SAA or FTMS to register with them for the exams. It will cost u about $175 for SAA CBE Exams.
On the day of exam, u jus need to bring the receipt and your ACCA card, immediately after the exam u will receive the results immediately and they will sent the results to ACCA.

Good luck for your exams!!
