Ya F4 is unexpected for me too (51%), barely pass but I am lucky enough to score 66% for my F5. And sooo happy that I passed F3 (52%) cos it is so tough compare to past yr and I can't do more than half the paper. :s12:

Get ready for F6 and F7 this sem now. :s12:

So scary to see my F4 result, I expect to get 60+ as I was quite confident with F4.

F5 paper totally caught me off guard, even though the overall paper was quite easy.

I really don't understand cos I am pretty confident I answered well for F4, expecting something like my F5 60+ one... getting 51 is like the examiner pity me and let me pass one...

I know my F3 is expected borderline case one so that's within my expectation.... :s12:

big4 will need all ACCA subjects pass, and will only take in after results release. only on rare occasions they allow those who are still doing acca to secure a job(usually that means your name constantly appear on the top students list)

small audit firm usually take in partial acca cert, usually those with all F papers cleared. however job prospec and pay is always the issue.

i heard some mid tier firms do take in patial cert when they are in need of people, and on the condition that u can complete the paper in next sitting, i am not sure with that, although i definately heard "stories" about that before.

mid tier firm by the way, geerally refers to those non-big 4 firms that have made up the rest of the top 10 list

I am offered 2.5k + $400 increment annually for first 5yrs as an accounts executive role(not sgx listed). I am certain the starting pay is normal, but what about the incremental per year? Is it at market rate for accounting(not audit)?

I was also told that by end of 5th year, there is a good chance(unless i screw up) I would be promoted to accountant. My qns is: what is the diff in job scope between account executive and accountant? appear the same to me.

Is it normal for accounting sector to hop? I really hope to work in a sgx listed firm.

Btw, I am fresh beside an insignificant 2mths internship in tax department of
an audit firm.

Hi would u mind to share what had u learnt in tax department? bcos i am interested in tax, just don't know the job scope. Thanks a lot.

2.5k with no exp n 400 increment annually is pretty good for an accounts executive, most prolly exec wont be doing full set, the accountant would be doing full set or exec doing full set and accountant doing consol depends on size of company.

theres no normal or abnormal in job hopping, when you feel that you've learnt enough or realise theres no career growth u simply job hop

if you wanna to pursue a long term career in audit then P7 is important, same as tax p6. p5,6,7 are the most popular options papers imo, but not sure if no p7 the impact will be how big. I'd like to experience audit for a few yrs so p7 is good to have. normal accounting jobs p2 is very complete already.

wow 2.5k fresh grad quite good. MNC, got bond? I think they accounted for OT.

oic.. thanks for the input :)

i am definitely going for p6, its just whether to choose p7 or p4 for the last option. quite half hearted cos i like both lol.. if i am going into tax, will p4 complement well with p6?
