Hi i can't say which one is better as I have not tried the Kaplan lecturers or heard from my friends who is good from Kaplan, since most of their "star" lecturers went to LSBF.

For SAA, Adrian Hoa is good for F4 as i have personally attended his lessons before.

F5 you can try chow kim tai or ian lim, never attended their class before but positive feedback from my friends who did.

hope this helps

Question on F6 or P6 on double taxation relief.

Anyone know about Relief by Deduction? Or, it may be understand as deem gross?
- Normal method, re-gross the foreign income receive then do the tax comp and determine the relief it have
- Deem gross method, the foreign income NET of foreign tax is deem as the gross amount to be tax in SG.

My question: Is this method still in practice?

A very burning age-old question that i always wanted to ask.

SAA or KAPLAN ? In terms of overall studying experience.

Under deduction method, you will suffer foreign tax, when amount remitted to singapore, you will be taxed again on the amount net of foreign tax. This seems not to be the most beneficial method, hence you will only be granted deduction method upon request to IRAS.

Normally the credit method will be used.

Depends whether you are a branch or a company. In all cases, deducting instead of claiming dtr is always better, on the basis that is of course "foreign sourced". You don't have to write to IRAS. For branches, this is the only way to claim tax relief since it does not qualify for s50 tax relief.

Hi guys,

I need some advice.

I am taking the last 2 ACCA papers next week. My qns is: What should I do next:s11:

I self-studied my entire ACCA course. Therefore, I do not have any related intern exp. In fact, I never work in any desk-bound job before. My only work exp is retail sales, and I just finished NS not long ago.

I would like to start off in audit(CPA firm) but I don't feel confident about it(starting as a perm full-timer). I wish to get some intern exp but I am not sure which CPA firms hav such programme. Can current and ex ACCA students provide me with a list of audit firms that conduct internship prog? I know Big4 do, but they are unrealistic for me.

I saw some cpa firm hiring on Jobsdb, etc. Can I apply those requesting for intern? I don't mind low pay.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think you should find a perm job instead of intern. I guess every fresh grad have to start somewhere. Just be honest with the interviewer that u are fresh and do not have any exp but is willing to learn, they will give u a chance. There are many CPA audit firm out there who are willing to employ fresh grads. (But the pay are low.)

At least that was how i started last year... :)
