Yes yes, black pen can be used to shade the MCQ answer.
By the way, just word of advise, next time u should have ask the invigilator if you have any doubt. Don't wait till everything is over and u can't change.

Just my little contribution.

I did my p4 yesterday , it was the craziest paper i have attempted in my whole ACCA journe.

A lot of adjustment and a lot of steps required to work backwards. I could only pin my hopes on the theoretical parts. I left a whole 12m blank , no time to do it!!!!

if u have only attempted P4 once, i would say go for another round, it might be more manageable. P6 is not of any easier too. i have done P6 & P7. P6 is more about tax planning theories and occasionally some calculations from F6 will come out to stun u.

if u studying full time or having slack jobs, 3 modules are fine. as for the sequence, go read back a few pages back, i posted some sequencing advise before.

u have to consider the study days, exam dates, your discipline to revision etc before u sign up for 3 papers. i did 3 papers every sem for 2.5yrs, very siong but manageable. now im a happy man~ no need to mug for exam anymore.

Hi Hongge - this P4 is my 2nd attempt. I am already starting to lose all hope in this new examiner (bob) who is not consistent in his style of settting questions. Very very unpredictable and very different from the old FM paper. Even with strong foundation in WACC/changes in Capital structure/Hedging --> it will still be futile cos bob is very into new developments. Last sitting came out Futures with this "Settlement Date" which stunned me and calculation for basis risk is totally different from the text (Even Sammi mentioned that this is unfair, but bob still expects us to know). This round ask us to estimate a 6 months Forward Rate Swap rate with just 6 contract prices and 6 risk free rate. Tts why i am beginning to see no light at the end of tunnel unless someone can confidently tell me that next round is going to be pretty much the same style as the previous examiner.

Anywae, I left with one last paper to to my ACCA completion - as now I m very disappointed in P4, I would like to see if Adv Tax can be my next Dec paper.

Needreader - Can you let me know which lecturer did you go to? I am under Sammi.

I was under James Kwan! Even with his detailed notes and lecture , i find this paper tough.
Put in a lot of effort , and have to admit even you study you might still fail.

QN1 was crazy - 14m to make the correct adjustment for the correct cashflow - or i should say 19m since you need to calculate the payback in part b.

QN2 was the worst - especially b - the WACC was very tough , not the usual kind of WACC.Need to Ungear, regear , work bckwards using combined be to establish the "isolated" Co's Be after it divested the prop division. I spent so much time thinking on that part , and i think it was really inhuman

QN3 - The crazy swap with just 6 redemption rate and to estimate the forward rate- never come across such stuff in my whole life (12m never do) . Only people that do detail research on swap will know how the structure works. I picked this one because i got no time , try to grab that 8m theory 1st....

QN4 - Is all about ethics i have to admit it was the most managable out of all the exam qn

QN5- About capital rationing , with a given IRR and NPV . The qn is how do i write to secure the 12m , which appear taunting. The 8m on the minimum Kd was even worse- dont know what it was was asking --> Instead of wasting time figuring how to do , i decide to drop it and to try out the rest of question

Conclusion
This is a crazy paper . With only 1 attempt , i told myself not to retake it again- thats my best effort , if i cannot make it i believe it is my limit

P4 is a gd knowledge paper. u really learn alot in this paper. if i got extra cash in future, i will go sit in for knowledge gaining =)

final6688. since this is your last paper, you might wan to sign up P6 class to try it out. you have to decide whether u wanna attempt P6 for exam before the exam registering deadline. if you find it too tough, you might wan to sign up P4 revision class and continue your P4 journey. just treat the extra module as knowledge gaining and next time tell your employer you got 3 option papers knowledge instead of 2. go impress them haha

At first I was thinking of F4/5/6 for my skills paper....

Then after reading some suggestions, I was thinking if I should leave modules that are linked to later levels (professional level) last in my F4-9 journey. i.e clear F4 + F6 + 1 more first. But I also scared 1 sem nv touch financial/management acct will rusty or not.

My friend suggested to me F5/6/7 is not bad combination. As it covers F5 and F7 which are linked to my F2 and F3.

I personally scared F3. F2 is much digestable to me.

I'm "spoilt" with choice right now. Can some sages enlighten me? Heh, thanks.

the best order to take has already depicted by ACCA through the number f1-9. there are reasons why f9 is last and f4 is first paper of level 2

Hi everyone,

I will be visiting the icpas within the next few days for ACCA registration.

Understand that the 2 main schools are fta and ssa. Any tips on which one I should go for considering the following points?
- I live and work at Jurong West. So SSA city office is a bit nearer.
- Both comes with multiple modules and early bird discounts, can I say that the prices are pretty comparable?
- In the exceptional occasions where I might skip lessons, which school allows me to join a different class or which one has webcast?
- are the quality of lecturers that vast that I should pick the school based on the lecturers? If so, who would you recommend for F1, F2 and F3.
FI - Andy Tan (SSA), Sheemeen Tan (FTC), Yuen Yuen (FTC)
F2 - Ben Lee (SSA), Elaine Tan (FTC), Ester Thng (FTC), Mary Tan (FTC)
F3 - Edgar Wong (SSA), Selvam (FTC), Nicholas Woo (FTC), T. Sarah (FTC)

Hi Hongge - think i will heed your advise go ahead with P6. As you mentioned that P6 is more theory, i think I m more suited to just memorise the fundamentals and apply to the case appropriately. but have you heard of reviews from current tax lecturers Yvonne(ftc) or Goh Sher Wee (saa). Well, I have my fair share of GSW when i was taking 2.5 - dun really feel comfy with his style.

As u mentioned, P4's really gd for knowledge, I like this topic cos unlike the rest of acca module, it reflects the direction a company is heading (M&A, Financing decision etc). But after 2 unfateful attempts, its "twice bitten thrice shy" Now i just aiming to clear acca n not challenge anything liaoz.

Needreader - did james anticipate the "new developments" in Bob's question? I was under james revision class (last 2.4) and he told us he kept up his knowledge by getting books written by examiners and filter for his students. Did he did the same for p4?

As i mentioned earlier in my post, this Bob is really crazy and sets question which is out of the text and yet stresses that "it is fundamental and students ought to know." For normal classes and revision, Sammi just went thru past year questions. No doubt Sammi's techniques was good and well liked, I personally feel that just doing past year questions is not enuf to handle Bob's questions which reflected the real-time financial markets. What's your view on this?

Or anyone here can advise which tax lecturers is gd?

He only gone through some of bob ryan's question , and told us the "new" way to compute kd and WACC using M&M. think was in the pilot qn. Personally i find that question pretty useful or else i might get stuck in 2b

hi, today p2 paper is insanely hard! i am quite sure i will be retaking the paper very upset with it. i need advise as to whether to take p2, p3 p6 and p7 together at the next sitting or should i just do p2, p3 and p7 in the next sitting, p6 will be left for the last. however based on this combination, i am afraid i would forget many audit knowledge and will be disadvantaged next time when i started off as an audit associate when i graduated from acca.
or alternatively i should go for p2, p3 and p6? i know p7 needs good knowledge of p2 so not very keen to do it separately from p2.

do P2,P3,P7 together lor~ when u go work as auditor next time, u will be re-trained 1 so no worry and assistant requires F8 knowledge to perform their duties nia.

if i were u, i will chiong 4 modules if studying full time, if fail some also ok cos ur initial plan might be to complete in 2 sems so putting a gamble to try luck see can save half a year anot.

else if u can split P2,P3 den P6,P7 it is still ok 1~ half a year difference still ok la. i took P7 1sem after P2 and able to recall P2 knowledge easily. just a reminder P3 is not an easy paper as well.

hi, i think i will go ahead with p2, p3 and p6 first. i cant take 4 modules because i have a 3weeks long reservist in august... it gonna have some impact on my study. now come the quandary, with only one module to take at the next sitting, what can i do with the rest of the time? lol... just feel so upset that got to retake the paper.

another question is p6 vs p7, which is the more difficult paper?
