Hi! Have anyone tried self-studying P3, P4 & P5 together? If so, can advise?

P4 difficult to self study as it is very technical and requires lots of understanding. If you are fast learner, it is still doable but suggest you have to do it full time as all the P levels papers are heavy and brain damaging.

hi im currently studying p345 part time, i dont suggest u self study p4 unless u already are an accounting degree holder or some advanced dip in acct who have prior knowledge to advance financial mgt, if not as tyc7700 says it's brain damaging.
p3 maybe u can try self study, lots of models though, a few may be a little complex,

pls go and take a look at the contents in these books (available in libraries)to make ur own judgement.

p5 i personally cant handle self study. not sure about u .

Hi seniors of acca students,

I have recently heard about the completion of acca by 31 dec 2018, I have not register acca yet as I still waiting for my poly cert and transcript but have bought the textbook and practice kit for f1-f3, can or does anyone tell me more about this information? Cos I don't think I can finish this acca from now to 31 dec 2018 as I decided to study all the f paper to P paper during ns. Does this affect me and should I register or not, because I thinking to register probably in next month.

Can anyone briefly or explained what is this completion of acca by 31 dec 2018 all about?

Who tell you about the completion of acca by 31 dec 2018??? I have not heard of it anyway. Since you have went through poly, you are exempted from f1 to f3. I am not sure why you bought the textbook and practice kit. This year is 2014. Average people to complete is 3 years. 2018 is more than enough.

It is possible if you have the study materials or relevant accounting background e.g. poly or uni acctg knowledge or work experience. Nothing is impossible, just a bit tougher than those who attends classes but it really depends on individual learning ability.

If u are referring to those lecturers note, then I'm afraid those learners institute like Kaplan don't sell lectures unless u sign up for their tuition classes, becos last month when I buy their f1-f3 textbook and exam kit, I also wanted to buy the lectures note, but ya, have to sign up for their tution class then can have, but u can always buy from ppl here, I'm pretty sure that here is ppl who have, though some of the syllabus may be outdated or old.

p3 i took under andy tan, i think he is a committed lecturer. he always encourage students to write out answers from the exam questions for him to mark, a lot of us did that. he will mark and return on next lesson.

he will reply to email quickly too (the next day), and he is patient.

he provides quiz most of the time at the start of lesson to test whether we revise our work, will train ur discipline.

he dont really write a lot, he talk a lot, u need to catch and write down wadever u need. bring along voice recorder if u need.
