You will have to start from F1 module.

Is your marketing diploma those 1 year private diploma? ACCA don't accept that as an entry requirement, so probably if you have an O level, you may have to do foundation modules which the 3 papers are equivalent to F1 to F3.

Nope, its a 3years diploma in NYP. Does that makes any differencr in terms of the foundations wise?

Nope, unfortunately. Unless you have done some modules relating to accounting, finance, audit, tax or law which you may claim exemptions for.

I would suggest you look for NYP for accounting diplomas. ACCA don't usually list non accounting or finance related diploma/degrees.
You can then match the exemptions awarded to NYP accounting diploma graduate and see if you have the same modules (exact naming) taken as per your transcript.

If however you are not allowed any exemptions, NYP diploma still allows you to gain admission to start from F1.
Otherwise you may consider taking up a finance or accounting degree which you may claim up to 9 foundation exemptions.

But if you are sure you want to go into the accounting industry, you can start from F1 and also go for the Oxford Brooke's degree.

Hi,

Thanks for the input. Pretty sure I have some modules that allows some exemptions.

Do you have any idea what's the lsbf preparatory course for acca all about and how does that allow me to get a better start in getting acca?

Is it similar to getting exemptions too?

Can't find any info, but how long does an average takes to finish acca on a part time basis?

Thanks so much!

The term preparatory course just means paid lessons/tuition only. It's to prepare you for the ACCA exams and is not compulsory. You can self study if you want and whether you pass or not is entirely up to you.

There are 2 sittings for ACCA and you can take max 4 papers per sitting. Depends on how many papers you are required to take, and how many paper you wish to take.

Perhaps share here how many exemptions you have so I can advise you more?

There is a portal at ACCA website accessible by public to check their current certificate will exempt them from how many papers and which paper.

The school - Kaplan/LSBF/SAA/FTMS provides you the tuition and materials to study. The body that give you the certificate is ACCA.
Just like Secondary school/JC, the final certificate you get is from Cambridge.

Currently is 2 exam seatings per year. Sept'15 there will be a new seating but only certain countries has, Singapore not inside, and from 2016 onwards they will fully implement the additional of 2 seatings making it total of 4 seating per year ( Mar,Jun,Sep,Dec).

Typical part time student takes 2 papers per seating = 4 per year.
14/4= around 3.5year. Some hardcore take 3 per seating. 14/6 = 2.5year. Provided all pass but hardly the case. Haha.

Hi,

Thanks! Very informative.

Say my diploma allows me to exempt some stuff, does that means its one less paper to take?
Like if I'm able to exempt 2 modules, that's 12 papers in total instead of 14?

Will read up more when I have access to a computer. Mobile viewing isn't the best.

What did you guys write for q1?

Exchange shares that means disposal? Then shares value should be at OMV in calculating gain or loss, then is capital gain. Then stamp duty...after that I am clueless how to continue the remaining part.
GST on secondment is covered in one of the iras tax guide.
The option question this time round very unexpected. CPF cash topup relief for 10 marks. Just manage to get the 7000 max cap correct but din remember the condition...

Maybe examiner angry some lecturer go n complain to him why keep testing memory work. So now completely all application question.

Sigh...May need to retake p6....totally an unfair exam.
