Hello, would appreciate for any advice to clear my confusion.

I will become an ACCA member in a few years time. According to ISCA website, I can obtain direct entry to become an ISCA AFFLIATE if i complete this acca professioan qualification and the relevant years of experience. http://www.isca.org.sg/become-a-member/pathways/affiliate-pathway/

As I am not able to meet the transitional phase deadline, am i allowed to take up the SQP to become ISCA MEMBER/CA SG? Or is affliate the end-route, as for now? because as per my understanding isca affliates are those who are going through exams to become a CA.

Or must i complete SQP foundational exam as well (since acca do not qualify for the professional one via exemption)?

Would appreciate if anyone could tell me the pathway....

acca member -> isca affliate -> ????? -> CA SG

I have just cleared all my papers and called ACCA SG a few days ago asking the same question. Sadly nothing is confirm yet if you are out of the transitional period like me. We may or may not get CA in future depending on the agreement. I have also asked will I need to take up SQP, the answer was not necessary. I know this doesn't answer your question but it's the answer given to me from acca. Maybe u like to give them a call to see if there's an update.

thanks for the reply. i just checked with the sac website that they are currently working with the stakeholders (cpa acca etc) with the new agreements. they completed phase 1 of the agreement and it will complete and be released end of 2017. till then we have to wait which exemptions we are given

Hello,
I am in NTU engineering. However, i am thinking of the prospect of taking ACCA at the same time together with the degree. I have done research on ACCA and find it a good qualification with good career prospect.

I do not see myself being an engineer in the near future

Any advise?

it would be better to go for SQP route after you finish your degree.

what makes you think you will like accountanct? you can sign up and have a feel of accountancy using these free acca lectures ( opentuition.com )

Hi

I am a student taking a local uni degree.

1. How & where do you start to take this ACCA qualification?
I am confused with the different levels of P1 - F9.

2. Any exemptions for local accounting o level/ diploma/ degree?

3. How fast to pass each level?

thanks

You sign up to be a student on acca official website. Pay yearly fees and exam fees from the official website.

If you want to take classes, you can sign up yourself by going to the tuition centre. (lsbf kaplan)

There are 14 papers. 9 foundation papers and 5 Professional papers.

a foundation paper is equivalent to level 2000-3000 module in nus while P is like level 4000 (its very tough)

on average you can clear 4 papers per 6 months. But while studying in nus, i can only manage 1 per sem on top of my schoolwork.

Exemptions: first 6 foundation for account poly. all 9 foundation for account uni

Heard from student of Sami in f7 class, p2 is changing syllabus after June 18? And it will not be related to f7. Is that true ?

Btw, is it possible to study f9 without f7 knowledge ?

p2 questions will change, more challenging

yes possible. f9 uses some f5 knowledge only

Has anyone attended ph lim class in kaplan? Not sure whether if it is just me, or his teaching style is overly unique. Considering to withdraw from his lesson since i can read on my own anyway.

Hi everyone, I have a dip in engineering and going to NS soon.May I know what r the papers that can be self studied? I am going to start from f1. Is it recommended to attend part time lecture etc instead of viewing them through online course?
