How long you all take to finish the P papers?
So sad. I am stuck with this last paper p6 for 2 years already.
Think of going overseas take p6 lol, im the only candidate for sg variant in the classroom, all other people taking p3 and one p6 uk, and surprisingly the result is even better than my other acca paper.
The way of how u present your answer always rmb to go for the very basic, chargeable income does it satisfy 183 days in order to qualify as singapore tax resident, if not what other measures are available to advise your client to pay lesser tax, p6 is a paper of advising your client, not to forget your witholding tax s12(6),s12(7) rules and condition.
If not i would recommend you to retake yvonne goh from
Lsbf, her notes and teaching is very good till now i still rmb of what she said in class.
Thank for the advice. i was so close to passing my P6 in dec17 seating, 4 marks away. I wonder why I manage to pass P7 in first attempt and this P6 is killing me.
Actually i have invested heavily in P6. In total I have attended 1 main class and 1 revision at Kaplan + 1 main and 1 revision at LSBF. The 5th attempt I am going to take up revision class at LSBF again.

Hi there am currently just started taking ACCA. Am now in a small audit firm first year, and i was basically planning to end up in some commercial sector in the future, but confirm not audit coz sian. and some friends told me that ACCA isnt very useful for my case for the following reasons:
1. Only should get ACCA if wanna be like a partner or continue down audit line
2. to go those big companies like listed de or even MNCs confirm need Big 4 experience (which i probably cant get into coz i only diploma)
So basically, since MNC and listed companies will look for got Big 4 resume de to hire, i wont get a chance, and my choice is to go to SMEs which they say wont really care about certs and all, just how much (or how little) my salary is.
And also, for someone like me i dont wanna do audit now small firm already stress i dont think can go and cope Big 4 also :/ and since like that, i also cant get into MNC or listed COs as they prefer Big 4 experience de, which also means ACCA kinda useless for my case. Is that true?
Any advice would be appreciated coz if what they say is true i might reconsider completing ACCA (ps i need take 9 modules, now only just start taking the 1st one)
Thanks in advance!![]()

Imo, just relying on big4 audit experience alone is never enough to take up high level managerial role in most mnc. Commercial experience has much more relevancy compare to auditing unless it is IA or compliance position. If can pass ACCA then just take and keep it. I think it is more worthy than uni degree. Anyway, there are always some sour grapes around like to comment that it is ok not to have it or it is no big deal to have CA, CPA or ACCA.
Main thing is if one want to be a Public Accountant, you needs to have CA (S'pore). Even in Big4 if one do not have CA (S'pore), there is a limitation of how far you can go for your career.
This is because ISCA do not recognized ACCA for CA (S'pore) if you miss the Timeline under Transitional Arrangements. So don't be a sour grapes & oversell ACCA.
If one have ACA/ICAEW, should one still get CA SG while working in big 4?
Youd be paying more membership fees tho
