I won't advise that you completely switch out of SAF. But i would certainly advise that you take up a professional qualification to enhance your skillsets, and ACCA is certainly one of the best (and cheapest) bets around. I'm pretty sure SAF has internal control departments (outside of the secret police, of course) that could use some internal auditors. That way, u won't suffer too heavy an impact on your current salary.

yup... every year every unit are bound to be subjected to audit check... perhaps you can join one of them for the audit process...

Guys!!! I just received a call from EY! I am offered the position of Audit Associate 1, though I don't know what that means. But the pay I am offered is $1700.

I don know if that is the market rate but I feel its very low. What do you guys think??!!

Last time during 1997 to 1999, the starting pay was around 1.5 to 1.8 if i was not wrong...
So now crisis, they might want to drop back again..considering that there is an oversupply of labour force now...

I would say that the maximum exemption you may get is the fundamental level (i.e. F1-F9) but you may want to submit your transcript to ACCA for review. The professional level is compulsory for any degree. IMO, I feel exemptions may not necessarily be a good thing, even more so at ACCA's professional level.

Discount it back to PV of 1997-99, 1700 will be 1200-1300 in 1997-99

everything is tough if you did not put in effort in it. f4 is theory paper, f5 consist both theory and quantitative elements, while f6 leans more towards to computational.. i would say all 3 of them require intensive memory work and practice... a very good gauge of the difficulty would be to look at the global passing rate.... my take is if you dont plan to study a few hrs per day consistently till the exam period... then it will be extremely difficult to mug all 3 when the exam date draw nearer.
