Do you really have to study in sim-rmit degree in accountancy or any OZ degree in accountancy as long as it is recongise by ICPAS for PE Exam?

If no & any OZ degree in accountancy will do as long as it is recongise by ICPAS for PE Exam, then you can try TMC-Deakin because ...

With a H.Nitec, you can get some extemption for degree program, why waste time to study SIM Dip 1st before you can study the full duration of sim-rmit when if you fly over to rmit in OZ, you can get some extemption for degree program.

You can try searching onlinein Deakin wedsite to see how many cedits you can get for extemption & if you cannot find, just throw S$50 to TMC for enrolment & you will get the answer on how many cedits you can get for extemption.

But please check with ICPAS wedsite & see which Deakin modules is a MUST to take in order to be recongise by ICPAS for PE Exam.

For ACCA, I do not advice you if you want to study for Master Degree & above.

I also do not advice you to study ACCA because it is not easy for ITE Grad.

i have higher nitec in accountancy qualification.

1st choice go sim study sim diploma in management studies then continue with sim-rmit degree in accountancy.

2nd choice go study ACCA.

i worry sim will not accept me due to i do not have gce o levels qualification.

2nd choice is harder rite?

i going ord. worry about my future.

May embark on ACCA soon and am exempted F1-3, F7. As for the remaining F4-6, F8-9, which ones shld I take together and not too taxing on my brains? For individual papers, can y'all recommend the respective institution and lecturer for those papers? Please drop me a mail regarding those issues. And also, which institution has lower charges? Is there vast difference btw SAA main n 6 ORQ branch? Please drop me a mail if u r able to provide assistance. Thanks all!

Hi. I read ur post and understand u got exemptions for 4 papers. May I know how? I tried calling kaplan and because I only got dip in accounting and finance I only exempt for f1.

Btw and how u submit ur cert and transcript? Thks for answering

SAA

Hi fellow ACCA(or soon-to-be) candidates.
Does anyone of you took tutorial classes @ SAA before?
How is it like? Do you do past years questions, or tutor will just answer queries shoot by the students?

Also, anyone attended Goh Sher Wee's lectures/tutorials before?
How's his teaching style? Good? Or comparable to any other lecturers who are more well known in this field?

Will sincerely appreciate if anyone could give me your comment/feedback, as I'm planning to take up tutorial with SAA.

Been studying with Kaplan for 2 years, and 1 revision course with SAA, City Campus.
Seems like no one talk much about FTMS. No comments for them?

Base on my understanding, Big4 will accept degree that are recongise by ICPAS & so the answer is yes.

ACCA is hard to pass but you may want to ask some of the ACCA students/gradutes to show you some of their papers before you make yoru decison.

Hi Jason , i would recommand you to study ACCA. No doubt the qualification is tough , but with hard work you should be able to do it.

I have questions for existing students. I have the following fundamental level F4 to F6 and F8 to F9 left.

1. How should I combine them to take it in 2 sems? As I don't know the workload as well as time taken to study individual papers for examination, please give your feedback.

2. How many days are those papers usually space out in examinations?

3. Can you rank the level of difficulty for those mentioned above?

4. email me on the institution and lecturer for the individual papers you have taken and felt is best or worst so I can avoid pitfall?

5. Lastly, what are exactly the difference between SAA main campus n 6 raffles quay? Which is better anyway?

Welcome ur inputs. Thanks.

Hi Claire... u might want to check for any updates on F6 for tax as some things in jun 09 does not necessary applicable in jun10 exam. F4 n 5 r still not so bad... Anyway u only can take max 4 papers per exam... :)

What area of accounting are you interested in? Some are interested in the double entry, eg. how to do bookkeeping...

How about Accounting for Dummies?
Or Secondary School Accounting Textbook.. I actually read that for my ACCA.. to gain understanding...

Any kind soul can help this blur guy.... I ask @ other thread but did not get the answer.

I wish to self study for ACCA. If I take F4,F5,F6 and prepare only from Sept-Dec spending 4 hours everyday, will I pass?

If I take F4,F5,F6, can I get materials online (because I notice that the materials shared online is UK version). Or can I buy past year notes from HWZ ppl and read it myself?
