hi,
thinking of taking F4/5/6/7 next semester.
cld anyone provide comments on the lecturers
f4-ramesh balak (lsbf) vs terence tan(kaplan)
f5- roygoh/mary tan/hoo sen kai
likely going with yvonne for f6 and sami for f7.

f5 for roy goh is a good choice, as well as yvonne and sami.

The rest I never took their classes before :s11:

Hey guys,i'm a malaysian.intend to study acca in singapore
Here are some questions
1)is it a norm for a singaporean to choose singapore variance for all the variance papers and not international stream?(if i'm nt mistaken, lsbf seems like doesnt offer class for international variance,am i wrong?)
2)can you all please recommend me which college/lectures are good for p1,p2 and p3?

Thank you:)

1) Singapore variance and international variance are almost the same... except for the law and tax of course. but if you are talking abt F7, F8, P1, P2, P7, its almost the same. Usually singaporeans will take SG variant of course

2) replied in my above post

i took f4 ramesh revision class.. found him quite good, cos he shared with us how to format our essays, which was not shared by my normal class lecturer at kaplan

P5 - which lecturer?

I am struggling which lecturer to go for P5. Sami has dropped P5, Ian Lim no longer teaching part time in SAA...

I gotta choose between:
Roy Goh-LSBF
Tan Leong Chin-SAA
Chan Tze Kang-FTMS

Anyone attended their classes before? thanks....

Is it advisable to self study p7 using Mr Chee (SAA) notes??

How different is f8 from p7 :s11:

P7 is more on a broader scale and you are in the role of advising what should be done. alot of FRS related issues are included here

F8 more of looking at how to audit specific tasks like Inventory, AP, AR... questions will ask you to do a step by step instruction on how you do it.

His notes are sufficient for the exams IMO.. the challenge is understanding, absorbing and applying it onto the exam qns.

Hmmmm am i right to say that P2 foundation plays a much important factor than f8 instead ?

HaHa i have some relevant practical audit experience, not sure it helps though.

yes p2 play a much important factor than f8, if your FRS concepts are strong, it would be much better.

with regards to practical audit experience, from what i gather from my friend who is an auditor and also currently taking p7, as well as Mr Chee, danger lies in that you apply what you do in work to your study when in actual fact what you do is not always by the book , i.e. some part you close eyes on certain issues or simply do not perform that particular test.

maybe while studying you could see if what you learn in the book is being applied in your job. :o
