I think LSBF have a better mix of students, of coz there are foreigners too (but lesser). I have been the schs u mentioned, so i can understand your concerns.

You may also try ftms as well.there got more international students (who speaks english) :)
just google LSBF & check out their background in UK & found out about their reputation, their owners seems to be of eastern europeans (russia?) background so not sure about their heritage. Kaplan & SAA have nice campuses at Wilkie Edge & Somerset, both have ACCA platinum status so that attest to their quality & high passing rates. Kaplan belongs to a large education group whereas SAA is education arm of ICPAS (ie. Spore National Accountancy Body).

From Glassdoor website review

From a Senior Manager/ Former Employee – who worked at LSBF

Cons – Zero leadership
dictatorial management
senior management compromised by lack of experience created by installing family members into positions of authority without any previous, relevant, work experience. Leads to incompetence.
Questionable business practices.....selling and promoting courses that do not exist in campuses they don't have. You do not have a Prague campus so stop promoting it and signing up students along with their depositis!!!

Advice to Senior Management – Sell the business to someone who actually cares about delivering a first rate student experience and the deliverance of successful outcomes instead of treating the business like a personal ATM.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

This is my first time writing acca exams at expo. I am taking F5,F6 and F9 exams.

Do they provide lockers outside the exam hall to keep your belongings like hand phone etc?

I did f1-3 computer based exams and they provided lockers outside the room.

no they don provide locker. all the belonging are put at the back of expo.

Better pass P2 fast cos FRS39 will be replaced by FRS109 or IFRS9 soon then you have relearn the whole FRS. Also pack of 5 FRS 27 revised, FRS28 revised, FRS 110, 111 and 112 are all future examinable materials.

Pass P2 the earliest possible

Anyone can advise me the difference between financial statement risk and audit risks?

I keep seeing it appearing in the questions, and it seem to me that they are abt the same.

Audit risk consists of control, inherent and detection risk
Financial statement risk is the risk of material misstatements due to error or fraud, where error can be in the form of misapplication of standards and classification.

Thanks alot !

FS risk is actually RMM, which is IRxCR.

AR is as what you said.

Hi,

Thanks for ur reply.

What does IR and CR stand for?

Inherent risk and control risk?

Yes Inherent Risk and Control Risk because these two are what the auditors cannot control, which is management bias and control overriding if weak controls are in place.

For Detection Risk, it is what the auditor can control, such as Sampling Risk, assigning experience and competent staff for the audit engagement, all these are within what the auditor can control, which is why it is not included in the risk of material misstatement but included in the overall equation in audit risk.

Yes I was referring to him. As I said he offered a different perspective in some of the topics in P1 and P3 when he was in Kaplan but not sure how was his delivery when he switched over to LSBF

quite good. I passed my P3 paper using his notes.
