How about audit paper p7? If change from sgp variant to int variant?

Everything offered by BPP online are the international variant. Basically, you will be studying the same thing as everyone else worldwide. The good thing is you can discuss the topic in their forums and with such a wide pool of students, you can be ascertain that the teaching method is reliable.

The downside is you don't have any localization. For that reason, I am taking P2(INT). It's the same for P7 as well. But there is no need/requirement for you to take sgp version except for tax (F6/P6) and law (F4) papers.

Wanna ask for advise from experts here. How to revise for P1 & P3? Do I need to read both textbooks or read lecturer's notes and do exam qns are enough? TIA?

Anyone can advise the above?

Another qn:
Is it better that I go down to BPP@M2 personally for the session and sign up than online?

1 more qn:
Is there a thread on "PER"? How do I fill up the questions in the "PER" as I am not working in accounting firm nor accounts dept and my mentor is my boss, not an accountant.
Thank you!

Yes, it is definitely better to make an appointment individual since it will be personalised to you. If you can, try to arrange to meet Zach (ACCA relationship mgr aka salesperson) or better still speak to Travis, the head of the professional programme there, if he is available. He is not a salesperson so dont need to worry about sales talk, if you wanna know more about different qualifications and alternative pathways and reciprocal arrangements...he is also well versed since he was from ISCA.

Although ACCA PER is quite flexible. it still has to be either acc firm (any department) or finance role in private sector. Read more here http://www.accaglobal.com/sg/en/employer/supporting-trainees/per.html

Sharing on P6 class

Currently taking P6 under Mr.Tommy (kaplan).

Attended GSW (SAA) class last sitting, found huge differences between two. Please note am just giving my review for whoever needs it.

Would like to give review on Mr.T class after attending P6 lessons:
-His lectures alws straight to the point, does not talk in bombastic tax language to confuse us
-Notes are very clear cut, simplify, puts lot of effort in making effective notes (eg draw diagram to make us understands tax concept very very easily)
-shares his notes via student portal, we don waste time copying it in class
-His lecture and time management SO SO SO DIFFERENT (from previous). Words proceed from his mouth ALWAYS related to tax lessons. Due to good time management, he starts strictly on time and try not delay us at end of class. His lessons not beat round bush, straight forward, easy to understand, not confuse us (very different compare to previous always confuses and constantly scare us P6 impossible to pass)
-When writting on white board, always allow us sufficient time to copy and always give us the correct answer (does not tease students by giving wrong answers, and making us re-copy everything again)
-very importantly, when practising ques, teach us ways to tackle ques and earn points in exam. give us self-prepared answer, teach us good exam techniques
-during class, do not force us to answer his questions and 100% not waste time unnecessarily
-very willing to answer questions when students approach after class. (VERY different from previous, alws make things difficult for students/got scoldings for asking ques).

Summary for me: -previously, only rmbr jokes, feel fear toward P6
-currently, amazed at the TIME EFFICIENT way of his lectures. confidence level towards P6 increase.

Good luck when choosing lecturer for P6 in SG.

I chose previous tutor in Jan-Jun sitting n didnt choose Mr.T was due to lack o Mr.T review in forum. End up las sem greatly demoralized, disappointed wen attending every single P6 class.

Hope mor ppl share reviews here in future (eg good P4/P7 lecture w good style/exam technique) help ppl spend time+tuition feewisely

ACCA P5 suggestions (URGENT!!)

Hi,

Can anyone please suggest good lecturer for P5 other than Roy (LSBF)?

This is the only paper that I am not able to clear in my first attempt and due to this paper I am just one step away to become an affiliate :(

Also, I have June 15 P3 study + revision + Dominic’s lecture and revision notes. Let me know if any one of you would like to have it, I am giving it for free.

Hi Neham27, P5 is taught by Andy Tan at Kaplan, his catch up class starts on 22nd Aug, evening part time class only.I heard he is good in lecturing P3. Whereas, Mr Ian taught P5 at SAA but full time morning class only. He is one of the recommended lecturer for P5. Hopes this help. :)
