Can someone clarify if the following is true?

Pros of using the DK25 charging dock:
Need not unfasten the cover for the charging/usb cable

Cons of using the DK25 charging dock:
Reported takes longer to charge than through charging cable with direct power
Need to remove case to charge

pros is correct...cons is only need to remove casing, charging no issues with speed

Got mine at $38 from JP today. I think retailers are still selling at $38. Sony stores are selling at $58.

Anyone know where to get the DK25 nowaday? JP Sony no more stock. They only have DK27 for Xperia Z. Can use that for Xperia V? JP Sony mentioned cannot.

But I got my dock from Sony in Wisma Atria.

I prefer to use the dock to charge. But regardless, my charging flap got loose and it's currently with them for repair.

Sometimes the electrodes in the dock do not detect my V, though.

Did you insert it correctly? Have you tried dusting out the ports?

I had this problem for a few days after i cleaned out my charging plates.

I also noticed that when not inserted properly, the charging pins do not enter the grooves but instead get stuck to the side of the phone.

Regarding charging docks, I have just seen quite a few in stock at Junction 8.

No, the phone fits the dock quite snugly.

Sony stores would be your best bet. Not sure if they are still carrying stocks though

It's also a store that sells accessories, I saw it a week ago. Better call to confirm availability of stocks before going down.
