That's what I have been thinking about. The thing is, although it has good prospects, I'm afraid I might lose interest in it halfway through the course. My interest in IB is probably another reason that is keeping me from going for accounting
I think filling the stomach is more important. I'm sure there are electives you can take for banking even if you are pursuing a degree in accounting.. So you can still pursue your interest, albeit not as your major. I would say if you want to do investment banking, make sure your grades are good.
I'm not sure about SMU, but if you are deciding between NTU accountancy or NTU business BnF, I would say go for NTU accountancy. If you are among the top students in year 1, they would allow you to pursue a second specialization in BnF as well. Then you will get the best of both worlds! From my understanding, year 1 NTU accounting & business take the same subjects, so you can still switch during this time, albeit more difficult if you want to switch from business to accounting. That is, provided you are interested in NTU, of course.
