u did not discover it come without optical drive? you can get a SDHC card and store any application files as CD-rom from other PC. (if u hv more than a PC at home) else you can get external cd rom.

let me know if they agree to go for early collection.

I don't think can, as on 10 sept when i was collecting my aspire one, i saw a guy talking to one of the acer guy most likely is about the collection because i saw him talking to the collection counter and later a guy wearing a acer polo-T walk to him. After i collected my aspire one they still talking LOL. So don't try going down to collect untill to the given date, high chance will be empty handed.

...today i went down to harvey norman and see the actual size...i was like wtf that is made for kids lol...

I can't imagine gunbound or dota on that.....tiny screen.

This is a UMPC, of coz the screen size is smaller than normal lappy! In fact, a UMPC at 10" screen is big to me liao.. wait till you see a 5" Sony VGN..

To play games, I think you are better off on a normal desktop with at least a 17" monitor.

good. but this netbook not suitable for presentation.

Yup, I guess netbooks are really more for just using on the go, surfing the web, reading through/editting work/documents, perhaps some entertainment without having to lug a bigger and heavier laptop. And all that with a really low cost.

But come on, to the detractors who ask why no cd rom/dvd rom? why is it so small like for kids?

Its a netbook. Haven you people heard of the EEE PC? Its for those who wants ultra portability at a really low cost. Back then ultra portables cost 3k+? Now it can be had for like $500-$800.

Well said!

But i guess there will always be pple who wanna take these UMPC and compare it with full fledge laptops, and den ask "why these UMPC so expensive? some more small screen and no cd-rom.."

They are MISSING the point..

How to tell whether the battery is 3 cell or 6 cell?

for me, i can't tell which is which as there's no description on the batt itself. But if fitted a 6-cell on the netbook & it's opened up at 90-degrees angle, you'll see the battery is protuding out from the back, pretty obvious IMO :o
