:s22: if it is motherboard failure and out of warranty, just buy a new one~

since 1 model can get as low as $299~ :s22:

not sure if anyone has encountered this, but the screen of my netbook went blank when i was in HK/TW last month. it was working completely fine the night before i went and on the day when i'm back in SG.

not sure if it's due to the cold climate, any advise? :)

hi all. just bought a d257 at the recent courts expo sale, must say i'm super duper satisfied with it so far.

quick check, should i bother upgrading the ram? it's at 1gb stock at the moment. i only use my netbook for documents, iphone syncing and occasional movies and online streaming.

also, anyone can kindly recommend where i can buy screen protector and keyboard protector (if any?)?

thanks!!

Oh, and one more thing... I think my battery life has improved by a little bit... =)

Strange... I thought Win7 Home is supposed to take up more energy than that of a Starter...

anyone know a good place to go to upgrade aod260 ram to 2gb? tia!

i did a self upgrade recently to 2GB ram but after that my AOD260 went bit crazy.

sometimes when i try to switch it on, the power LED will light up but screen is blank. sometimes i can power it up as per normal. worst of all, i think i cannot do a restart as it will end up only the power LED got light up but screen will remain blank.

anyone who upgraded to 2gb having similar issue as me? i tried to change back to 1gb n everything back to normal again.

I am having the same problem, the system does not read the new ram. Bro was commenting our d260 cannot support the new ram despite being able to handle ddr3.

Any guru here to advise?

:s11: did you bought the wrong ram~?

It is more safe to buy a 8 chip ram than a 16 chip ram~

there are some brands that don't accept a 16 chip ram such as HP netbooks.

usually kingston value ram is 16chips, and crucial ram is 8 chip one.

Uhh...the latest Acer D257 has no HDD led. Means you can't tell when the harddrive is busy.
