Hey, I just bought this display recently from SLS and it's the November 2016 batch.

It's working great but a certain design difference got me pondering....the stand.

My stand has a pointy top where it connects with the monitor whereas all reviews on pictures or videos I saw had a flat top.

I only manage to find a local dude who also has the same design difference.

Look at the video at 1:18 mark, you can see the stand has a pointy top.

So I am wondering why is that so??

okay lei more stable. zowie also have it at the back of the monitor, but is one on side instead.

white noise hiss in headphones?

I am using the XB271HU with a Asus GTX1060 card, using the DP cable that came with the monitor.

When I use the headphones plugged into the headphone-out port of the monitor, there is a white noise hiss in the background. The loudness of the hiss is constant regardless of the Win10 volume adjustment level, except that it cuts out completely when Win10 volume is adjusted down to zero.

I don't know which component is to blame. The monitor? The gtx1060 card? or my Asrock onboard sound?

Oh and the bundled Creative BlasterX Kratos S3, has faulty headphone port, like intermittent noisy contact.
