Isn't the Viewsonic XG-2703GS a better monitor?

There are 2 cons for that monitor.

1) The price is significantly higher with S$1,058, the cheapest that I can find while the XB271HU can be bought at a low price of S$955. Literally $100 more expensive.

2) Ugly and cheap plastic looking bezel. At least the XB271HU looks way modern than the same old generic monitor look.

Other than that, all the features seem to be the same.

im using this monitor also. any diff with 4.119 firmware? and how do i request for it too?

If you have this problem. You can ask for the firmware upgrade. Be sure to take a video like what I did.

My issue was more complicated then a firmware upgrade that warranted a new set exchange.

Yup! This was a problem I had before and at very rare times, this other issue in the picture below can also happen when in game. Do contact Acer via their support link quickly as their updating device is being shared by both Singapore and Malaysia branch. So if you missed the timing, you might have to wait like a few weeks to even months later.

The process is when you contact them, they will send a technician down to verify the issue is present. And only then, can the customer service then ask you for an appointment date of when they will take your monitor for the update. This will usually take 2-4 days. So plan wisely. My monitor delivery back to me was done on a Saturday too. So that's nice.

Use this link to contact them. Then you should receive an email soon. http://support.acer.com.sg/enquiry/ServiceEnquiry/TechnicalService.aspx#_ga=1.172062827.959069250.1489594887

If it happens record a video similar to this one but also include proof it's your video by putting your face and room in it as well. Better than nothing.

Usually, the moment you tell him and he checks your firmware version, should be ok. Mine didn't happen when they are here also.
It is just a procedure that has to be done on their side as well but they'll understand as it is a common occurrence prior to this year's firmware update. Is what they told me. :)

Yup. Brand new June 2017 set. They brought the sealed box and unpacked on the spot and took back the old one.

Acer usually quite on the ball providing service for their XB271HU & X34a monitors.

As long as don't abuse it for backlight bleeding excuses

Hi friends, is there any issue with gsync (on this monitor) running in windowed mode with a secondary monitor that's 60Hz?

I already have a dual setup of S32D850T's, but they are not doing much justice to my 1080 Ti AORUS Extreme.

So I was thinking of getting an XB271HU as a gaming monitor and using one of the S32D850T as a secondary monitor. I have a quirk though, as I only play in windowed mode if possible. Seems like people on reddit are having some trouble with gsync and windowed mode and secondary 60Hz monitors, especially with the W10 creator's update. How about you guys?

Thanks for the comment!

To be honest I've never seen gsync in live action before. Does it not help with a smoother gaming experience (reduce tearing etc.) beyond 60 FPS?

It does foe me. No tearing at all at 100 fps and low
