Maybe adblocking is working fine for me. I was able to watch videos without any hiccup.
both the adguard and ublock got indicate the number of ads being being block at the icon when I visit mewatch. It use to be working until last month lor.

Total : 133
130 blocked
3 not blocked
Only failed Yandex and Adscripts loading. How to fix those on UBlock Origin Lite?
I'm also trying to find out. Maybe a specific blacklist on the site? I don't think it is possible to achieve 100% block. I mean that's my goal but I think it will break something like payment sites which led me to dial-back some of the aggressive blocking. But it sure is nice not to have ads or pop-ups whenever you surf channelnewsasia or bloomberg.

I heard good things about using a pihole as a dedicated adblocking device when it is connected directly to the router. Beyond my time and current technical expertise to tinker with now.

It is not that difficult. If Lao_Tiko can, so can you.

Run PiHole + Unbound (recursive DNS resolver) on a RPi. It is not demanding on resources. I think RPi3 is good enough. Point your router to your internal DNS server instead of 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 etc.

Then add your blocklist to pihole for a intranet wide adblock and malware sites block

I run mine as docker services on an rpi4 but native is already good enough on a weak pi like rpi2 or rpi3

Nextdns is cloud-based. Pihole/unbound is self-hosted
Adguard home is self-hosted

You have total control with self-hosting. No need to pay for any premium tier. Any old hardware can run Pihole/Unbound. I think even a Pi Zero can host. I'm using a Pi 4 only because I run other services

Any old i3-8100T with 8gb will run Pihole/unbound. Old corporate desktops like the HP Elitedesk 800 G3 mini i5-6500T will be significantly performant over a Pi4. You will also have vPro AMT for basic OOB management for most of these corporate sets
