advice for gaming rig under 1k

Hi guys need help with building a rig without monitor and speakers (gonna use headphones) for a mid range system hopefully able to support games for the next games under medium to high settings. I use it mainly for Dota 2 and videos. Thanks!

Nothing much. One is without integrated GPU the other has.

3350P is the one without. Slightly lesser power consumption.

3470 is with iGPU. Slightly higher power draw.

Else nothing much.

But since you have a GPU. This should not be a concern.

I can salvage my optical drive and psu (seasonic M12II 620 BRONZE) and monitors and peripherals. Any recommendations for the things I'm lacking?

If you can salvage the 2 items. Best is to get an SSD.

If i were you i would go for newer haswell board and chip over the ivy. Get a better chassis. As this chassis the metal is really not very good. Thats for sure. Cause it flex so easily and bend very easily.

Welcome and please take up the challenge. It isnt that difficult. Please head down to youtube and search for linus tech tips assembling a PC guide.

There have plenty of instructions on how to build one.

Let us know again when you have any problems. Another thing is good luck building one, let us know how does it feels like when you first turn on your com

As per mobo and chip i recommend Haswell. Newer and got more available boards to choose from. MSI B85M G43. Asrock B85 Killer. MSI B85 G43 Gaming. Asus B85 Vanguard.

Either one. Cant go wrong with either brand. But i will choose the MSI ones as they have more PCIe x1 slots to utilize for my sound card and wifi card in the near future if there is a need.

As for Chassis, at least a Sharkoon BD28 and above.

Or alternative a much solid chassis should be Fractal Design Arc Midi at $129

But then again its your choice.

Dont need a h87. A b85 or h81 will do the job. Not unless you are planning to insert multiple hard drives and going for raid connections. Else a b85 or h81 will offer what you will need.
