Instead of u2712hm, can get qnix qx2710 evolution II from qoo10... its using samsung PLS which is better in colours than IPS. Cost only $340. It uses dvi-dl connection only. 1440p and 27". Summore, your 1440p rig no gpu?

With 760 at $400 +/-, might as well top up a bit more to get gigabyte r9 280x or msi r9 280x at $449 and $479 respectively. Performance close to a 770.

750d is bigger than 550d. 550d more optimised for silence. Best is to watch youtube videos of unboxings. From there, can tell the diff.

it was difficult to find a similar design as dell ultrasharps. hence I have long dreamt of this panel and 16:10 ratio of 1200p for quite some time.

To be very honest. I don't game much, other than a once in a while kind of thing, which was why I didn't stress most of budget on GPU. understand that 1440p requires why more GPU processing. which was why I dropped 1stage to a R9 270x. based on reviews it doesnt perform very well on 1440p on max with aa. but I thought that on a super high res. AA on or off should not be significantly a major issue.

pardon me if I'm wrong as I only get to use my bro's u2412m once in a while for me to make an approate answer about as quality at high resolution

about the GPU I'm leaning towards MSI 280x if I'm heading there as the gigabyte one looks rather huge and heavy.

Your 2nd rig is more of the usual standard rig that i would recommend.

I rather you choose the gtx760 or if need be get the most valued ones are gigabyte r9 280x which in turns find it the best valued out there atm.

With a fresher mind now. I realised I only pulled the GPU down to round up for the SSD and psu. If i recall, gtx760 was slightly better than R9 270x but at a slightly higher power consumption, i might further reduce if need be.

I will head down sls for a quick walkaround to recce for parts, casing and speakers.

3. questions in my mind now

1. about Superflower PSU the HX500, SF-500P14XE(HX). Is it really modular, and is the dimensions correct? Reason I trying to avoid is because the no. of pci-e 6 pin cables looks 1 short from the description and the dimensions seems different from the image [based on the image of the PSU it seems to be quite long]. 2. Possible to suggest a basic GPU for light use (compatible with matx or itx cases, regardless of 1200p or 1440p) around $250.

Itx have its cons like unable to expand in future. Like example unable to add additional GPU, a soundcard and furthermore a small chassis traps heat.

If you don't game then a igpu is enough. If you do game on a 1440p then you got to find a card with 3gb vram at least. If you planning to game at 1080p but not intensive you can consider the r9 270x at $318.

IMO itx is only good in basic or HTPC setup, if u wan a proper desktop u should at least get a micro itx setup

If u intend to go beyond 1080p it is better to get a delicate gfx,or else u should consider amd a10-5800k or 6800k as their onboard gfx is much better

1. okays. So its recommended to do a 1 time machine and seal it. Expandability wise, just for example there are motherboards that that has soundcard chips inbuilt, etc. although at a priceful tag. chassis wise I'm looking at either cm 130 or bitfenix itx which are the only few that looks ok with better air flow. eyed on the matx version but the airflow is wrong. along with the inverted mobo.

2. roger that. actually I did thought of gaming on 1440p but scaled to 1080p. which I read online that its not very good because the scaled ratio is not proportional.

Reason to build with AMD processor now, is to make full use of on-board GPU with no plans on getting dedicated GPU right?

If you wanna have more gaming horsepower the 1st build cannot go wrong.

If you are just another gamer then the 2nd build will be a better choice.

HyperX comes with a spreader, the aluminium plating.

It helps in dissipating heat. That is all it does other than aesthetics.

R4 isnt small. Among all the chassis you chose. The smallest is 350D.
