Hi jap pros... just seeking opinions.. will be going to tokyo this oct for 8 days... basically only 7 available days as last day morning flight home... I am covering these places in my stay

Day 1 - Shinjuku (i staying here)
Day 2 - Akihabara, Odaiba
Day 3 - Harujuku, Shibuya
Day 4 - Sanrio Puroland, Shinjuku in the evening after back from puroland
Day 5 - Tsukiji Market, Imperial palace, Ginza
Day 6 - Disneyland
Day 7 - Disneysea

Few doubts i have.. i see most shopping mall closes at 8pm.. does tat mean nothing else to shop after 8pm? For example in Shinjuku if i go to dori street or yasukuni street after 8pm, still got shop open?

Did i miss out on any "must visit" place in tokyo? Is tokyo tower worth visiting? Any reviews on Nakano? if I gg akihabara still need to go nakano?

Thanks for any kind advice and feedback.

Not exactly missing out, but it might make more sense to group Tsukiji and Odaiba together, and the day with Ginza together with Akihabara, due to the proximity.

You'll be making a large detour based off the original plan; Akihabara is at the north east side while Odaiba is close to the south east side.

Night in Tokyo is not as dead as you imagine it to be, there are malls open in the night. I remember going to Tokyo Dome mall at like 8.30pm, and there were still shops open. Odds are it will not be as crowded. If you fancy some nightlife perhaps consider making a trip to Roppongi?

As for must visit place I'm not sure of what you're interested in so I can't really give you any advice, and well depending on what you're after you might decide on Nakano or Akihabara, or both if you feel that you want to experience it for yourself; reviews are mostly subjective so take it with a pinch of salt.

Thanks for the great advice, will relook at the plan and consider swapping odaiba and ginza. Im not much into nightlife as in drinking and all that... just thinking if i wander on the streets after 8.30pm are the shops along the streets still open? for example center gai at shabuya? or those streets at shinjuku which i mention above.. apart from restaurants of course...

Im not sure wat difference do they offer for nakano and akihibara? any insights?

some shops are open till 9pm, and most eateries open even later. night time is also good for sightseeing such as Tokyo tower, skytree, and rainbow bridge.

there isn't really any 'must visit' places. it is all up to ur own preferences. but the popular places not in ur itinerary are Ueno, Asakusa and Tokyo tower. Tokyo tower is quite iconic and u can easily put it in one of the nights.

for the itinerary, I think it is ok to put Tsukiji with Ginza coz Ginza is right next to Tsukiji, and imperial palace is also walkable from Ginza.
it is actually quite fast to get from Akihabara to Shimbashi (for Odaiba).

however, shops in Akihabara dun open so early in the morning, so u may want to consider putting some sightseeing in the morning. maybe visit ueno park or asakusa sensoji temple

I have been to asakusa sensoji temple few years back when i visited japan via group tour. Which is y i didnt include in my itinerary this time round...

I saw on japan guide website some shops in Akihabara opens at 9am to 10am... is that accurate?

Thanks for the feedback I think I could possibly squeeze in Ueno park in the morning and Tokyo Tower in one of the nights. But just to know, apart from the tokyo tower itself, anything else to do there? Else machiam like specially make the trip there just for the tower...

There is no way to compare Akihabara with Nakano. It takes the WHOLE day to fully explore Akihabara, Nakano is just like a small mall / shopping street....probably takes about 3 hours.

For me
Asakusa - Sensojii Temple, visit the shopping street and eat Japan's best melonpan.

Then hop over to nearby tokyo sky tree.

And cut off one of the two park days. Either disneysea if you are all adults, or disneyland if you have small kids, for 7 day trip visit both like very wasted IMO.

disney stores e.g. takashimaya times sq is one of the places.

Do you have any idea what time does the nakamise street store open in the morning?
jg suggest these times:
Nakamise Shopping Street: typically 9:00 to 19:00
Shin-Nakamise Shopping Street: typically 10:00 to 20:00
