err. took 8hrs total 360rm. 6 adults so each only ard 60rm.

if nt we split up also need 2 cabs.

glad that you enjoyed your stay. im going soon too, also staying at sunway hotel. can i check with you how much was your taxi ride from airport to sunway? and also from sunway to other attractions like penang hill, kek lok si, etc? want to use it for my rough guide if possible. many thanks!!

airport to sunway is 44.70 ringgit. fixed price, buy ticket from counter near gate 5 then go out of gate 1 turn right to get the "white" taxis. someone in charge will be there to help u!

from sunway to other places, we didnt really take taxi. we walked to komtar (at 300m away?) bus terminal to take buses. bus 201, 203 should go to jalan pasar, from which you can walk up to kek lok si. by walking up u can also see see look look the souvenir stores on your way up (the stores run alongside the stairs up!)

didnt go penang hill, but bus 204 would go to the bottom of the hill.

other attractions within georgetown you can take the buses from georgetown, or walk, or take their free tourist buses (i think it's called CAT) my group chose to walk so that we can see see the street art as well!

food wise, like ccssgm said, beside hotel a lot of food liao. just behind komtar has 2 shopping malls (prangin mall and 1st avenue) but the restaurant inside are those u can find in sg as well. else, nearby streets like lorong rangoon, lorong selamat have a lot of food too!

newlane food hawker area (like what ccssgm said) is just beside the hotel. have the standard hawker food of penang (char kuay teow, curry mee, lor mee, prawn mee, char kuay, etc.) lazy list down, but the desert stall is good.

sister's char kuay teow (185 jalan macalister) is good but quite small portion and expensive (maybe due to the crab meat lol)

tai tong restaurant along lebuh cintra for morning (cheap and shiok) dim sum.

coffee shop at the end of jalan rangoon facing jalan burma (cant rmb the name) has very nice claypot rice and char kuay teow.

nasi kendar pelita (146a jalan macalister) has very good prata!

huo guo zhi jia (steamboat dinner) cheap and good! has a lot of things to eat! they have dim sum breakfast too but i didnt try.

just a few recommendations. but still taste can be subjective so dont bash me if not nice!

Like hungry ghost like that...

I was staying at hotel sentral, very good spot also...

5mins walk to macalister and 15 mins walk to komtar...

Hi guys, i am looking at Hotel Waterfall located at 160 Jalan Utama. Is this place easily accessible to the tourist spots in Georgetown?

I just came back, Stayed along jalan macalister, Glow hotel...

Very Good hotel (new, clean, proper, its all u need from a hotel) and very good prices (about 75sg per night for king bed room....

Outside nearby theres a night hawker place, some pretty good food around.. so night can have supper around that area.. :)

Looks good from the trip advisor. Is the room big? Can walk to komtar or any shopping mall?

intend to rent a car and drive around penang for during our 4 days there. would like to ask if we can just rent a car available at airport and return on the day of departure or need to book in advance via website? thks!
