as for listening experiences with it, i have no comment about it since i'm not exposed to the Aego3 on a daily basis.

My aego M recently had unbalanced sound from the left and right channel...plus some crackling sound. Managed to strip down the sub and clean the volume pot with WD40 contact cleaner. Didnt perform any desoldering...all is now good and sound perfect! Now am thinking of the few mods to be done

1) change the woofer cone
2) change the spring clip connector to RCA

I connect my Aego M to my Dell monitor, which is connected via hdmi to my laptop.

There's an intermittent buzzing sound, sounds like a grounding issue. When I move the wire near to thr 3.5mm jack (that's plugged into the monitor) the sound goes away, but again it's intermittent. Very sensitive to movement.

Anyone experienced something similar? Pretty sure it's a grounding problem, but not clear how I should solve it.

(For info, I use the centre channel in lieu of one of the side channels due to imbalanced sound coming from the side channel, but I don't think this should affect the grounding)

It's not widely available unlike other speaker.
Only place that carries is Audio Basic at Adelphi and the price
is steep at $450.

At that price, there are many other options.

Reviving this thread, anybody using the Aego M and mounted it to ceiling and connected it to your TV/entertainment system? Still toying with the idea and not sure if can find a suitable bracket to mount it. Else, might just get a set and replace my current PC speakers. Previously owned a set of the aego M and replaced it after it broke down.

Hey fellow Aego M users. My Aego M has been with me since 2012 and is still working well.

Now: I got myself a 4k 60hz hdmi 5.1 audio decoder. Sound comes directly from my Nvidia Shield and I added a center speaker (Yamaha NS-C210) to make it 3.1. Sounds so much better now.

Next: I'm thinking of changing the stock cables to better quality cables. I've read the entire thread and I see people recommending the below brands or models.

Canare 4s8
Mogami (not sure which model)

The above was recommended long time ago and now in 2021, I'm not sure if these models are still relevant.

I'll be getting RCA interconnect cables for the Left-Center-Right port on the Aego M woofer and speaker cables (2 x RCA to bare wire, 1 x RCA to bare wire). Can anyone recommend me a good brand/model for the said cable types and what's the maximum size (AWG) the Aego M push-release connector can fit?

I'm very very new to sound system so pls bear with me or correct me if any of the above is not technically right. Thanks!

All of the mentioned cable types are fine. For Canare 4s8 is good but 4s11 would be better. Mogami 3103 is good but may be harder to source locally.

Don't need to overspend on name-brand aftermarket cables. Go to SLT LHS electronics and get the uncle to make a set for you. I was using both belden and canare on my Aego M. It's been a while but I don't recall any fitting issues for the bare wire side.

Not sure about prices locally (not even sure you would be able to source 4s11 or 3103 locally tbh). I make my own interconnects, so I typically buy cable in bulk from overseas (Redco). No idea about how they'd compare to Supra Ply 3.4, but for short runs, there is actually very little difference, if any, between all the good OFC wires.

RCA interconnects - I assume you're talking about the RCA plugs? You can look at Canare or Switchcraft if you want better quality. Personally had bad experience with REAN/neutrik RCAs. I've been trying out different rcas from aliexpress (some good, some bad). But if you don't solder your own, your choices will be limited locally.

Belden to Canare - Not much of a difference, if any. I switched because, well, hand itchy/curious. I've also made Mogami interconnects and didn't notice much of a difference.

I used to patronise them before I made my own, and still go there sometimes for certain things (i.e. power plugs). Their cable selection may be limited though (I got Belden there, and I believe they do have Canare, but not Mogami). Not much to talk about craftsmanship - RCA cables aren't difficult to make in the first place, and they're certainly more than competent. You can choose the cable type/length and the interconnects and they'll solder it on the spot for you.

4 - 5 metres are still short runs. The premium on better cables are more for the shielding (to minimise noise) for very long runs (maybe 20 metres; though I might be remembering the numbers wrongly).

Cable is just insulated copper wire with shielding. No issue using 'speaker cable' for interconnects; 4s11 can be used. Would actually be good to stick to one cable type for the whole set up.

Any tips how to open the sub? One of my speaker has buzzing sound, I think I need to open it and clean.
