A quick question. Why can't the recommended nvidia driver update be used? It can't recognise the hardware?

Its probably not stable yet and will cause crashes in some games. So until they release a new set of drivers the old ones will suffice.

It's because Company of Heroes 2 keep telling me in using an old driver and making the game unstable. However , I do noticed that so far only CoH2 can't run at high settings, borderlands 2 can run smoothly at high and so does shogun2.

Hey devilsheaven77,

COH 2 should run smoothly at max, the beta did, unless some changes have been made. COH 2 was just released after-all. The only game i can think of that the 780m does not max is crysis 3 (max without aa is fine.)

Regarding the driver, Nvidia's website does not have the new mobile cards listed yet even (760m -780m ). I'm guessing that the nvidia update does not have the new cards listed yet, as the card has only been on the market for a matter of weeks.

Btw. dropped you a PM, the 780M should easily run any of these games on ultra, so we can guide you on using the settings for optimus.

The good thing about this new CoH2 is they can run performance test. When set at auto-detect, the game set detail at low and a few others at low as well. And when ran that test, it delivers an avg fps of 48 plus. Though the game gfx details is still amazing at default settings , I'm just wondering if the optimization is not there yet. A new update is just out, will try to see if any changes.

Hi aftershock, I using xg17 with gtx 765. When running tomb raider at ultra, I only get 22fps n below. Sometimes I may even get 15fps only. Is that normal? Or is there some settings I need to change?

From what we heard. the ideal setting for the 765 and tomb raider would be high, not ultra (specifically with the hair effects and physics.)

Will run the game in our labs and let you know!

If Aftershock made something like an XG15 but slimmer I would totally buy it since I'm looking for laptops now
