Finally they have solved my issue on the spot, they literally changed the psu and waived off the charges.

Though i still need to send back to check fan cables as rgb is not working and corsair link hub is not detecting it.

But I have to say they have good after sales service!
What charge did they waive? Isn't it under warranty in 1st place?

This kind of thing shouldn’t happen in the first place lor, and I think the CS rep also know and probably gaslighting u all the way.

Quite a red flag and really disappointing, especially from a local company. All PC builders should know how important the PSU is — and common advice is always to overbuild a bit. A lousy PSU and voltage not stable is one of the main reasons why PC parts spoil. Personally, I suggest you just change a proper PSU.

try walking in a lexus showroom and have the salemen talking sky high about their new model in 1600cc. somehow u buy into the sales talk, then drive home with new car and realise u cant find this car model in their latest lexus catalogue. and tada, u eventually realise u got yrself a toyota vios. but hey, but in this case, at least it doesnt broke down in a week.

My first Aftershock experience was during Covid. Motherboard issue where the casing front USB ports not working properly. However, it was covid and onsite exchange, so I just lived with it and manage.

My 2nd and definitely last Aftershock experience is a year ago. Find their CPU to be very noisy and not sure if software or hardware issue but it doesnt run as smoothly even though I hardly game or push graphics.

Will be more fair to them when I switch to a different assembler for my next PC refresh in 2-3 years time.

Aftershock business model is source cheap than sell high.
Not only PSU but things like case fan also very cheap type.
Most users will encounter their cheap fan will rattled after a period of usaged.

Their CPU Cooler/AIO are also cheap one either ID Cooling or some cheap model.
That is OK but if anyone notice the AIO CPU cooler are not original AIO fans.
Aftershock swap the AIO fan with their own RGB fan cooler which they think
is OK.

For those whose Aftershock rig comes with NZXT AIO or other brand.
Take a look at the AIO fan for sure you will see a A logo on the fan.
How wish I can post some photo here but these are users rig not mine.

Lots of shady practices build using cheap/entry parts, swap AIO fan with their own
than when customer PC overheat than need to service.
Custom motherboard BIOS with A logo than down the road PC cannot boot.

For me time and time again users coming in with Aftershock PC for repair.
When they come down confirm will have to change/upgrade things like CPU cooler,
fan etc.

Good service is only when things are bad. I rather not use it.

I kinda agree with you however since this is the first time i faced such a weird issue and they do admit it's their mistake, i feel they're not that unreasonable at all. I will give them another chance.

just my 2 cents., nv ev go for pre build if possible.
That was my thoughts when im younger.. but now im older and then alot of shops in SLS already closed down, i think prebuild will be the better choice for consumers but of course, have to make sure it's reputable enough.

use to build own pc when young
can spend whole day or two at SLS looking for parts, comparing the price list
buy and go home assemble

now, just no have the energy to do all these
gone pre build for my current and last PC
told the builder your budget and requirements and they give you a part list for the PC, ownself swap and adjust the parts if need, pay them and they build it

maybe they gave wrong?

my pc also the cpu cooler was stealth but they gave some generic fan
they sent a guy down to replace it when i email them

honestly its' quite difficult to know what parts u get

Wow you paid for stealth cpu cooler, but they give u generic one. Its veri obvious they trying to shortchange you becoz CPU cooler is one of the main parts, u wont be blur to install a wrong brand/parts.

Got any small prints t&c stuff anywhere?

some biz have this practice of installing of alternative components that are supposedly similar in specs, likely due to shortage of the original spec components during the assembly period. In such cases, they would state that there can be instances where some of the builds may contain parts that are not originally stated and alternative parts of similar spec will be installed

Need to be careful. Same specs doesn't mean same build quality. RMA rate can be veri high.

I built 2 pcs using it both died within 3 years

bring back to distro rma no problem there but go home plug in cannot on at all, change power point/mobo wire also cannot

both got same problem

even my previous pc from 10 years also used super flower and it had the same problem

changed to seasonic and fsp no such problems after 5 years

yes I know super flower is seasonic OEM but I dunno why
Your house fengshui got issue issit? :s13:

I see people online all praise Super Flower until got dragon got phoenix.

Oops, just checked, I got Seasonic, not Super Flower. Think I tried to get SuperFlower but out of stock.

actually the stealth comes free with the amd cpu for that model

for me at least when i google, it was bundles together everywhere

im not sure if aftershock was trying to profit off it but they got no ethics if they tried to but we'll never know until someone leak their internal emails/docs

similarly not sure if it was an accident if they gave me standard or stealth

but their ssd and ram usually lousy and cheap models, casing also cheapo

mobo also cheapo

I don't think need internal leak.
If you see how Aftershock build is their build quality are rubbish.
Whatever is cheap they will use for example case fan.

OEM is Tecware which is rubbish fan, don't last long and can rattle.
Yet they use which mainly for bling bling effect.

CPU cooler wise this one is a good question how they decide.
Some build give ID-Cooling CPU cooler slap with their logo
while some use stock cooler.

Both Intel and AMD stock cooler are not good for gaming.
Stock cooler won't be able to cool the CPU properly
thus affecting turbo performance.

Don't tell me they don't know got $30 CPU Cooler in the market?
Or because got OEM/Manufacturer logo so cannot use?
Seriously either too focus on branding or Aftershock builders have no knowledge at all.

Whatever the boss/lead ask them to follow they just follow.

well aftershock is the cheapest prebuilt for a reason
anyone who buys from them knows that u r going to get cheapo parts that most people dont care about
infact its more or less the same price as doing it yourself buying from amazon/newegg..ect

and ppl who say go sim lim, i think u all never go sim lim often cus its actually more expensive than buying parts online yourself

sim lim inside outside no diff
all shops wanna chop u

its a tradeoff that most people can accept

also stock coolers that come with cpu are fine. most desktops uses them and amd stealth wraith for example, was getting very good reviews

as for rgb bling bling.....thats what people want to pay for so
