Anyway I must say, if you have the cash to spare get something better. A dual-core at least. The lagginess, even after the 0.9 beta update is too much for me to bear. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by my Galaxy S2 :(

lol u bought it with the wrong mindset. I never really compare Novo7Au with my note or atrix or a500. I don't even compare it with xperia play (single core). It is afterall a 799 RMB tablet using a chipset which lesser specs tablet can be bought at 399-499 RMB:s8:

Paying 799 RMB (S$165 is the real price of this tablet.) and wanting to compare with a US$450 phone is somewhat wrong. I tend to compare China device with branded ones, and that the China device should be around 50% cheaper. A better comparison will be with Galaxy Tab.

Also after all the reviews that ICS is still not complete on Allwinner A10, one would had expected problems when buying and have to wait for firmware to become stable.:s8:

Anyway, take it as a lesson and try sell it off if u really don't like it :) There could be bros out there waiting to get Novo7Au cheap:D A couple weeks back I think someone was selling 1 or 2 weeks old Novo7Au at S$150-160.

Edit: BTW Allwinner on gingerbread is much better experience as the firmwares are more matured. I'd used Gemei G2 (1GB RAM) for a few days and it's better experience than Xperia play (bonus).

MO means warranty will be send back to China and shipping paid by ourselves right? So why would S$200 be a good price when I can get from Taobao + agent shipping for <S$200 and likely get it in 7day?

Normally just login the google account and have sync on. If you using feiyu 0.9, maybe try essential 0.5 as the marker tend to add more google apps in, while feiyu tends to strip it down to bare min.

do it as bundle with simple case, sp and 16gb uSD. (latter 3can earn at $30.)

  5. battery/standby mode aside, you don't even need to do build.prop or additional script tweaking. The touch performance is far much better than those previously installed 2.3.4 / 4.0.3 custom firmware
  6. much better flash support (if I'm not wrong)

Cons:
  1. wiggle touchscreen still exist
  2. pre-installed games & apps mostly gone, except the 2160p player

Currently testing out the standby mode as well as battery duration.

Finally begin to release the potential of Aurora !!

I'm not sure if it's good to provide link to other forum in HWZ, I would suggest google search "slatedroid novo 7 Essential Clean ROM v0.5"

The first couple of results would bring you straight to the particular thread.

No try no know, try then u know :)

As previously mentioned (personal opinion), this is the best firmware so far that I've tried, in terms of touch responsiveness, market accessibility (why? cos I can install Live 4D & Toto for my mum :s12:) and straightforward w/o any tweaks that needs to be done (becos all has been pre-done) ..

I just got my unit too .... at Level 3 CH2 . A cute mei mei serve me ....


Seem like the touch screen is not too good for Android 4.0.3 v0.5 - (ALPHA VERSION, BAD QUALITY TOUCH SCREEN) ...

But it come with Market ....


What other FW you guys tested that work with market ??

you are right, this one is smoother, market have more local app... and google apps
