Juz setup the new ax3600 router to replace my Asus rt66u. Can I use the old rt66u router for my iot share network with TV box, and remote power plugs etc. The idea is to setup a separate network for iot devices, these devices are able to communicate within themselves but not to the main network where pc and handphone are connected. Thanks

Make sure they IOT network is on another IP range. Else is not really a separate network.

(this is just a basic 1 level network separate)

Hello,

I have an original global ax3600 and an original chinese. As you see they have different nationality.

I tried connecting via mesh and up to now it is a failure.

Tried changing one firmware from global to chinese and it did not work

I guess i can conclude that you cannot connect two ax3600 with different nationality.

Special thanks to dsmartlife for the updated firmware.

Any one who can help connect? just fire a message.

Thanks. Alwin from the Philippines

walls and signal strength

hi,

i'm using Asus RT-AC58U currently. I'm getting lousy signal (2.4 or 5G) in one of the rooms after 2 walls (ipad's youtube spinning & loading for a long time).

Will the Xiaomi AX3600 help with the situation and improve the signals? Yes, i know a ethernet backed AP will help a lot but it will be rather messy.....

thanks.

In terms of WiFi, nobody can guarantee you that it will be good. It depends on the walls and the layout. For example, it is said new HDB BTO unit walls are not that problematic but older HDB walls are really blocking wifi signals.

In any case, RT-AC58U is a low end router and you can always buy the Xiaomi AX3600 to see if it is good enough or not. If not, buy another unit (can be cheaper Redmi AX5) to form a mesh.

Bought the ax3600 and upgraded the firmware. It's running great. Wifi 6 is a speed demon. wifi coverage have also improved but still to run at 2.4Ghz at some walled corners but it does the job very well.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Internet Connectivity Issue with MiHomeApp and AX3600

Hi, i bought a Xiaomi AX3600 and sucessfully connect to internet. But when i use Mihome App, the interface doesnt load (seem like didnt connect to xiaomi server) and i cant control my xiaomi gateway. The gateway is working with cellular network but not through WIFI. My ISP is Myrepublic and i wonder its Dynamic IP would affect this connection.

I tried using TPlink Router and its the same issue. Pls help me.

For ax3600, download miwifi app. Inside the app, the region needs to be set to mainland China.

If that is the case just pay S$50 to MyRepublic to get a static IP.

Myrepublic is the only ISP in Singapore which use CGNAT and no public IP by default. CGNAT can cause many problems. But this is easily sorted out by paying S$50 for static IP.
