In term of CPU power, you can only go to Xiaomi AX9000.

If you only care about wireless, then there are multiple choices -- Xiaomi AX6000, Redmi AX5400 Gaming edition, etc. They have 2.5G port as well. If you do not need the 2.5G port, then you can go with Redmi AX6000 as well.

I am very happy with the Xiaomi AX3600 performance. I stay level 4 and I can connect to my home Wifi and watch YouTube even from level 1 of my house. It is so good that I am considering getting another Xiaomi AX3600 as spares.

There are quite many used Xiaomi AX3600 selling on Carousell. Maybe I wait till people selling it at $30-$40 then I buy as spares.

Yes Xiaomi AX6000 has a weaker CPU compared to Xiaomi AX3600. In fact the only Xiaomi router which has a better CPU than Xiaomi AX3600 and Redmi AX6 is Xiaomi AX9000.

No. It is an old model with the same IPQ8071A CPU as the Xiaomi AX3600. It is not as good as Xiaomi AX3600 but cheaper. For quite some time it had the best price performance ratio among all Xiaomi routers. Both Xiaomi AX3600 and Redmi AX6 are obsolete now, probably because Xiaomi wants to improve the margin and probably also because of parts shortage.

if I buy a ax3000 router as the primary router to split my internet (to be placed inside db box)

then wired back haul to a ax3600 to run a mesh system

would this be recommended?

Can share how big is your house? My house is 120sqm (about 1293sqft). With 1 x Xiaomi AX3600, I can get 120Mbps at the furthest point of my whole house.

I can even get connected to my router when I am downstairs at level 1 eventho I stay at level 4.

Some people need wired access in the rooms so they need to put a router in the DB box. And some DB boxes can block wifi badly.

Please also take note the global version of Xiaomi AX3600 has weaker transmission power compared to the China version so the coverage is not as good.

The simple workaround is to flash the China FW (no English UI, no SingTel VLAN support, strong signal but potentially violate local regulation).

There is a more advanced workaround to keep the English FW but remove the limitations of the global FW. The advantage is that you can then adjust the TX power as per local regulations. You can search this thread for more info.

No problem with this method if you can get two units of Xiaomi AX3600 at reasonable price.

If you want to get new units with local warranty, I will recommend to get Xiaomi AX3000 dual pack, at around S$169 to S$189 for the dual pack.

Will hunt on carousell for a good second unit of AX3600.

Need expert advice.
I'm currently using a Orbi RBR20 and RBS20. They seems to work well with some occasional connectivity issue which rebooting the RBR20 solve the issue but the main problem is that the Orbi app had this login time out issue that render the app unusable.
The app issue seems to be quite common and there is no resolution so far.

I have a AX3600 for more than a year but didn't set it up.
Recently, i tried to test the wifi range for AX3600 and the coverage wasn't as good as the Orbi probably cos i'm only have a AX3600.

I was wondering if there is any significant connectivity improvement for me to use AX3600 instead of continuing with the Orbi.

My apologies for my layman network knowledge and would appreciate expert advice.

Just setup and using my AX3600 (bought since May 2020), not very good in networking, calling M1 helps on their end.

Retiring my Asus AC66U since 2015. Recently keep having intermittent connection loss and not able to connect to the 5g...
