Option 1
Mxy-3h28vg x1 (outdoor)
Msxy-fp10vg ×1 (indoor)
Msxy-fp 13vg x2 (indoor)

Vs

Option 2
Mxy-4h33vg x1 (outdoor)
Msxy-fp10vg ×1 (indoor)
Msxy-fp 13vg x2 (indoor)

For 2 x common bedroom (13m square) + 1 master room (15m square)

Would option 1 be under powering or option 2 over powering?

Was considering option 2 as all 3 FCU will be on daily.

Any good aircon installation company to recommend as usually most go will go for GAIN CITY, Courts and Best Denki.

No idea why but the 5 years old hitachi indoor unit when using at Auto Fan and its reduce fan to speed 2 after cooling the room, it will have a howling wind sound until I choose to manually reduce fan speed to fan 1 or increase to fan speed 3 or 4. It’s getting on my nerves, Hitachi Aircon cannot buy.

It’s outdoor compressor also spoilt twice when installed from 2020 till today 2025, lucky bought the extended warranty from gain city, if not gg.
Just stick with the bigger company.

Personally, I had installed 2x from GC. So I will stick to them again in future.

The smaller company attracts me only if their discount is substantial.

Branding wise, its either ME or Daikin.

Can consider Midea if your objective is for renting out rooms.

I was offered a free upgrade for the new model. Looking forward to the self cleaning function, though not really sure what is that. I bought it more for the purifying air function.

Looking forward to it 😊
Hi! I'm looking to get the new XU series as well; do you have a direct contact with Panasonic, or you just went direct through their online shop? Were they able to accept requests for upgraded materials etc?

Anyone installed smart relays on their old aircons (non smart type) for power monitoring and remote control ?

What's the recommended way to install ? Install 1 relay to incoming AC of each FCU ?

I bought directly from Panasonic in Shopee during sales period. Very good price, then they will get their 3rd party authorised installer to install for you.

Panasonic's customer svc is really good. I like them. Have yet to stay in the unit but my Aircon had been installed. 👍

which Brand most recommended now?

or still Mitsubishi Starmex

Starmex easier to DIY servicing due to their design and if spoil, cheaper to repair as Daikin parts are more expensive.

ME Starmex and Daikin are still the 2 biggest players compared to the likes of Midea / Samsung / LG / Toshiba whatever

I would go for Option 2, what is the price difference?

I don't think at operating level there will be significant differences in cooling unless you set 16 / 18 degrees each room. I think the difference is how fast the rooms takes to cool down to set temperature, and if all 3 rooms turn on at the same time, or 1 after another, staggered. The last one to turn on might have the cooling speed being throttled as the compressor is also supplying power to the 2 other rooms.

If setting at 23-25 degrees I think Option 1 should be fine as well.

How many hours will you use daily? Just night time 8hrs 10pm-6am?

For me, pricing wise I believed the major players have priced it very competitively, some offer upgraded materials for free but overall package cost more, compared to a lower priced package with standard materials.

Most importantly is the workmanship, use of in-house technicians / outsourced contractors.

Some aircon companies are reputable, but even within them, they have so many installer teams, easily 8-10 teams. You just need to kana 1 sway one and alibaba you, then you will have poor workmanship and go Google Review / HWZ to blacklist that company.

IIRC, GC uses a mix of in-house and outsourced contractors. My parents place I bought from GC > 10yrs ago, and it was ok. No major hiccups except insulation degrade over time and the trunking gets condensation.

My recent installation done by Easy Cool, purchased under Harvey Norman. Some hiccups encountered, but they came and rectified so now it's all good.
