To ReiszRie,
33 sqm requires 18k btu.
24k will slightly oversized but its good to oversize.

Hi Bros,

Need some expert opinions from you guys. Am currently deciding between this 2 models for new house - 4Room BTO. Mitsubishi StarMex System 3 Inverter VS Panasonic Inverter EcoNavi

Mitsubishi StarMex System 3 Inverter
- Easier to clean
- Heard from colleagues that the parts are of higher quality kind

Panasonic Inverter EcoNavi
- Price is cheaper
- Advanced nanoe-G Air Purifying
- Human Activity Sensor and Sunlight Sensor etc

Any people got experiences/feedback with the above 2 models ?

Thanks in advance ! :D

Hi, thanks for your advice, in that case should I go for 20k BTU? I'm merely concerned that overcapacity might use extra power and possibly risk damaging the unit?

My opinions may not be the most accurate but here's my take:

If you stay in dusty area (i.e low level, near busy road, near industrial), better off with starmex because of easy clean.

I have a panasonic nano cleaning thing aircon (very sure it's several generations before the new models). Don't really use it. I can't expect it to fight haze or kill bacteria in the air when my kid is down with flu. I feel that it's an arbitrary nice-to-have, but no point for me since I don't open up my windows.

I was originally considering between Panasonic and Mitsubishi Electric as well and I went with ME because my old system was ME and it has performed admirably and also because Panasonic's main selling point is its ECONAVI which IMO, like all sophisticated electronics, have a higher tendency of failing.

To ReiszRie,

Upsizing will not damage the unit & might help to save energy (not use extra power) in the long run.

From 18k, the next will be 24k for most brands.

Hello ReiszRie,

Agree with what Terumo have mentioned. Other than that, the output of the compressor weakens with age hence if you are getting an 18K BTU, the output might reduce as your compressor ages. Personally, 24K BTU might be a better option. Not forgetting other factors such as morning and afternoon sun, design factors (living room is L shape) etc.

Best Regards,

Jason Tham

Hi,

Need some advise on aircon setup for a 5rm bto.

Mitsubishi (MXY2E20A) for master room (MSYGE18VA) and 1 bedroom (MSYGE10VA)
Mitsubishi (MXY3A28VA) for living room (MSYGE10VA) and 1 bedroom (MSYGE10VA)

quotation: total $5200.
Is this recommendable?

To Cantona,

I will recommend Mit Electric Starmex over MHI.
Anytime.

Thanks Terumo.

Have heard from sources that their after sales service is good as well. :)

Been procrastinating for a while. Decided to just go for Starmex. :)
