is the stock fans enough for a gtx 650ti or do i really need a side fan if i go for top back exhaust front intake? and shld i use a fan power splitter cable or just all plug to the mother board?

Use this.. it allows the fans to spin at full speed.. Or is you think that full speed is not necessary, use a fan controller.. if you dont wanna spend, then use a splitter.. It will be better to supply fresh air to the GPU.

Splitter cables are like this
0914_MED.jpg

there are lot of splitter cables in market
molex to 3pin fan
molex to 4pin fan
sata power to 3pin fan
sata power to 4pin fan
options are there to choose from

as for the picture, please take note these can power up a 5V fan and a 12V fan.
Not to connect wrongly as you can blow up the 5V fan.

There are even these but I have no idea where you can buy the splitters from.. The only place is from ebay.

Go to Buy/Sell forum. Someone does sell this in his thread.
Hmm, I can't find anybody selling this and the only way i can get it is through FrozenCPU. The shipping is kinda ex (7+USD to a small module like this) so you have to bulk buy to make it worth.

Hmm... Fans at the side will create a turbulence in the airflow. Which will worsen your temperature.

You using 38mm delta fans in your case? Even with GT's in there I dont think they move enough air to cause what you call "turbulence", which is probably noise from the moving air.

There is no laminar air flow in a computer case, only turbulent. At least bother to understand the terms you're using before using them.

Turbulent flow is better than laminar flow to cool warm su.. - Homebuilt - Systems

Precisely. The only reason I said that was because I was once in TS's position. Owned a P410...with additional aftermarket fan controller. Even made a thread asking around about the "best airflow config" for the P410. Well guess what?

Eventually one would reach the realisation that excellent temps are wholly subjected to SG's prevailing weather conditions (or whether the A/C is on if you're elite).

Each to their own, and I won't blame anyone for hunting down the last 0.5 degree in their CPU/GPU/HDD/SDD/PSU/chassis. Just one day, you'd find it silly and won't be bothered anymore.

I think the whole Singapore climate thing is getting blown more and more out of proportions with each discussion about airflow and temps. My house is at a no-breeze part of Tampines and the hottest it ever gets around here is about 30°C max, indoors temp not outdoors.

Plus pretty much most of the decent fans/heatsinks/case/etc on the market right now all have more than enough cooling capacity for a healthy delta t temp even with an ambient temp of 30°C. My 3 hitachi 3TB's runs at 50°C when alone, but with just some light breeze from a ~1400RPM fan running at lowest speed they run at 39-40°C.

38mm delta is to cool the radiator which is outside and they are pwm controlled to lower the noise.
GT is to cool down the harddisc
the area above mb cannot be cooled as air from GT will be blocked by HDD
only option is to mount a slim 120mm fan on the right hand side to force in cool air
mounting 2X12cm fan on the left hand side will not be effective as it will be block by a 290 gpu and cool air will be suck out by the 70mm top exhaust.

Will be mounting a few configurations to test out.

not a bad idea
even thinking of installing a stand alone air con blowing cool air to the side.

no way to get this locally?

You can always make it. I made something similar many years back:

IMG_6164.jpg

As well as many others similar fan hubs :s13:

When I had 20 over fans in the rig, none of it is connected via molex directly. Every fan is connected to hubs like this (measured and made to size), which is connected to fan controllers.

Performance drop isn't much. Around 0.1v to the final (6th fan) in the loop.

Didnt even bother much nowadays. :s13:

Myth still playing hardwares arh!!!!!

Nothing to play with nowadays, everyone's progress is so slow lol. I still read anandtech reviews everyday though :D

wah, long time no see myth post liao.
still rmb last time always see you post about casing and all sort of fans haha

Heehee, glad someone still remember me :o

Not sure if you actually understood what I was posting lol. I was just using the 38mm delta and GT as an example, I doubt you're using any 38mm deltas in that case?

Lol, 40mm fans suck at full speed. I had 4 and just 1 is enough to sound like those big fans in the coffee shops. I have never touched them ever since.

Laser used to have them. I bought mine from them, but they're pretty noisy. Can't remember how they performed. Nothing spectacular I suppose. I'd give then a miss if I were you.

The main attraction is the UV Lighting.. and the neon color plastic.. They are unique.
