What's the best part about the AX40 that makes it not as good as the XM?

i've got about 3 excess units from the mass order... oh wait. group purchase that i did in november... each unit at 83 sgd. these older units were 315 RMB each, with me being the local technical support (i've a spare PCB, as well as the small components to fix up the units)

in light of the new models released (http://world.taobao.com/item/522866284352.htm), i'll be collating orders again for it once again, and work out my costs involved etc.

from what seems, the key difference is that the new version is information that is labelled clearer than the current version. otherwise the functionality is the same.

as for the grazed front/black plastic faces, yes i can do a one-for-one swap for you. the current units we have, we only have one main PCB plus one Plantower G1 unit mounted together, thankfully.

shouldn't have issues. whatever you do, do not switch to the singapore location when the app does - the lot of 5 xiaomi 1/2 that i have access to, are lost when i changed to the SG location, and the xiaoyi night vision surveillance camera too.


for the folks who need someone to do the ordering for XM1/2, i may do another group purchase again... will need to amass a quantity and seek out the seller on TB.

Average out is about $187 per piece.

Actually i think about it, buying from NTUC the new one isn't a bad idea since it's less than 30% saving.

Local buy still can use credit card get rebate and has warranty.
XM1 is more expensive and can cover a slightly bigger area anyway.

AX40 is much better than the 2 XMs for HDB MBR and living rooms (might wanna get 2 for those > 135sqm flats) in terms of noise and aiming for at least 5 ACHs. But XM2 would be better for bedrooms, esp BTO ones which are ultra small.
Esp with the sgd279 time sale price with 1 filter.

This stems from the fact that the AX40 does not have a medium speed. XM2 has med speed, which brings down the noise a lot. XM2 is much more compact as well.

However, the original filter is not cheap, cheapest was 49.90sgd last dec.

Rip out the AC layer, it becomes a 350m3/hr machine due to some resistance reduction.
Compare this with the XM1 in 406m3/hr. I have played with the XM2 in 388m3/hr and it's supposed to be slightly quieter than XM1. Still, there is absolutely no comparison, side by side.

PS. 2 pieces of AX40 at 323m3/hr gives 5 ACH for a 44.5sqm living room (2.9m ceiling). You can give 10% more if you wanna factor in the furnitures and cabs. At a decent and very tolerable SPL.

Or put it this way, you might as well factor in the kitchen too and just close the yard door. It's a PITA to open and cloose the kitchen door frequently during a hazy day.

Do include the corridors in the living room
