Yes, of course. But if there is pax in the room, really no point.

Aim to open the windows and doors at least twice a day, if it's slightly hazy day then full power for at least 20 mins after that.

There is a seemingly high possibility of another wave of haze coming at us in the next few days as Kalimantan explodes again (winds not exactly expected to change). The smoke has already been released. See below pix.

Sumatra also deteriorated. That cluster in South Sumatera near Palembang and that big island Pulau Bangka seems to have spread. Now the smoke front forms a broader line.

As predicted, lets "welcome" the haze back this morning.

Seems to be a mix of Kalimantan and Sumatra this time round.

The haze is affecting as far as Medan and northern Sumatra @ Banda Aceh area (that big 4003 tsunami area).

After last weekend's dense haze cloud at F1, this weekend's one seems pretty mild.

That one is great for the bedroom for current haze levels, actually ok even for 2X of current haze.

With the ratification of the haze treaty by Indonesia, it's unlikely that we'll get serious levels of haze in the future. Unless got serious El Nino.

Actually the Sharp A28 is pretty much same in performance vs that. So can get the $99 one and save some money.

Sumatra region (including us) will be extra dry and hot for the whole of next week.

Kalimantan may experience some rain starting tomorrow.

The 3-hr PSI moving average is really somewhat slow. The conditions here down south + my PM2.5 monitor has been steady since about 9+AM (my above post was 8.49am visual sighting), but 2PM 3-hr PSI moving average is still rising. In fact now 2+PM I think conditions have improved quite a bit.

I am sure most folks wouldn't wanna be swimming (hot weather) for 1 to 1.5hrs for 20 laps out in this kind of air.

NEA reported that they will do 1-hr NEA readings, but it's still not yet implemented as of now. Check the source from nea.gov.sg, the info is all there with regards to 1-hr readings.

Like what China and the US Embassy have been doing, and yes they also report 24-hr etc.

My PM2.5 monitor is sometimes spiking up and down depending on wind speed.

Eg
Beijing PM2.5-Beijing AQI-China PM2.5

Main Air Pollutants: PM2.5

Health Implications:Air quality is acceptable, but maybe unhealthy to a small number of sensitive groups.

Beijing PM2.5

1-hour PM2.5: 73.92μg/m3,
24-hour PM2.5: 37.62μg/m3.
1-hour PM2.5 ranks #127 in China by ascending,total 190 cities.
1-hour PM10: 145.17μg/m3,
24-hour PM10: 88.07μg/m3.

Why every year Indonesia keep burning forest ?
UN can stop them or not ?

Started since Palm Oil Industry huated in Indonesia.

As far as my info goes, 1991-1995 were the defining period in which haze started to be a problem. 1997 was the PSI 226 year.

And the perennial issue is not exactly very big. Only some years somewhat dua zhong nia.

Hopefully next year got positive improvements with Indon's ratification of the haze treaty, the damn headaches have been getting to me for the past 2 weeks (despite having air purifiers at home, and one can't stay at home all the time watching movies and TV esp on weekends).
3 Sundays already hazy liao and popping paracetamols (+ other days are very slightly hazy, the sustained hazy conditions, while far from being dangerous, do have a cumulative effect).

Oh crap... :(

8am 9am 10am 11am 12pm 1pm 2pm 3pm 4pm

63 65 67 70 73 79 86 93 95

Took 6hrs to really reflect on the 3-hr moving average.

True PSI PM2.5 since then is in the 90s. Bordering near the unhealthy zone. (AQI would be in the 140s region)

But seriously, still better than just now's 12pm and 1pm situation. Visibly worse than now (see the rate of increase then).

Should then be in the 110s, 120s range....of coz not as bad as last Sunday's.
