Actually why does haze cause headaches?

Is it triggered by sinus?

The smoke is mainly from peat though. Not the same as incense or kim zhua. Much higher temperatures also.

Transport distances also different. Palembang is some 700km away....PM10 is nearly non existent at those distances relative to PM2.5 or even PM0.1.. Different from kim zhua/incense..

Penang getting smoked as well. PM10 figures, btw. (which means that it'd be smokier than our equivalent PM2.5 PSI)

Yes, it maxes out at 500 for USA EPA. But for ah tiongs they have 993 ug/m3.

Still lower than the 4000 ug/m3 at around 50-100km from the Indonesian fires though. That's why visibility can be 30 metres and you barely see your neighbour's house.

Last time visibility could be worse but not much smell.

PM2.5 shows the same thing.

NEA shows only 38 ug/m3, or PSI 79

It's going to get worse, can almost see the incoming haze cloud.

Why Indonesia don't take care of the Haze ?

cause is cheaper to burn and faster to clear land...

then they wait for good wind and rain to put out the fire...or wait to see if their military scramble to create more artificial induced rain...

they like to watch other countries suffer (both in terms of tourists / economics and larger amounts of people visiting healthcare) and themselves suffer while huge crowds visit the clinics and hospitals or are they testing their healthcare system can support how many patients at one go?

On the weather radar, I saw some rain at the extreme north side.

Peninsula Malaysia has been raining with quite a few big patches.

Jambi no rain. Palembang also no rain.

Comparing Samsung AX40 and LG LA-Q379SB, can you advise which is better?

Both are probably around the same. The Samsung looks nicer to me.

The LG is a wee wee bit noisier, 1.5dB noisier for the same airflow.

LG has washable HEPA. I have inspected the filter before, such things look like that it has some additional mesh on the HEPA filter media so that it does not break down or get compromised much.

However I think it's just to clean the surface thingy. HEPA media by definition is cannot be washed coz it would be compromised.

Don't expect to get much trapped ultra small particles out of the filter just by flushing it. I guess can help maybe 20-30% nia.

Expensive leh.... get the LG model that is mentioned above. Literally the same for much less.


PS. Really end of Haze season liao.
Any purchases now would really be for "next year".

But if for daily use at night, I guess just buy then.
