i plan to put in bedroom. but maybe sometimes bring it out to living room if needed....

i checked many places.. A80 stock not available ... :(

Got check with GAB on stock and price?

I don't think you'd be able to run the 611/620 on Turbo mode in the bedroom, so no need to drool over the 600/500m3/hr :s13:

Btw, just checking, you aware of Samsung AX40 or LG PSR459/LA-Q349SB?

Lioncity and Goh Ah Bee should have good prices for the A80. Else can try Parisilk. If OOS then can't be helped. BEST Denki and Courts CMI prices.

If you are planning to operate this daily, spend a bit more is worth it.
BTW, the A80 replacement filter, original one from Taobao is RMB370. It's supposed to be H13. Customised one with 45mm depth shd be ~ 130 RMB.

I think if Chuanz has the time, he could actually test the Novita NAP620 vs Samsung AX40. Now is a good time coz there is decent loading with current PM2.5 levels.

Just a 10 minutes run and note the BEFORE and AFTER levels in the same room with the NAP620 and AX40. Would tell us a lot in terms of % drop. Actually can even plot out the graphs and see the gradient. power!
I'm actually interested to know also....but I only have the NAP501. :D

Technically, I think it's impossible for 600 m3/hr and 500 m3/hr for the 611 and 620.
I think 400 m3/hr for the 620 is possible though. HEPA filter size is not big, from what I see.

I may be wrong though, so need to test it out in real life.

My LG LA-Q349 + PS-R459 (Korean model and Singapore model) has a slightly bigger outlet area than the 620/611 if what I see in the store is not wrong. My 2 LGs push between 13.5kph and 20.0kph at various positions of the outlet, so as to achieve ~ 312 m3/hr as per specification. The outlet area is 33cm long and 9cm width. To achieve 600m3/hr at the outlet, that means the wind speed needs to double, or 26 - 40 kph. I don't remember "feeling" 40kph in the stores.

Looks like the ratification of the Transboundary Haze treaty last year that the Indons endorsed is deemed hao siao. :s13:

http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se...ids-disclosing-info-on-plantation-concessions

'Jakarta law forbids disclosing info on plantation concessions'

Indonesia cannot disclose any plantation concession information even on a government-to-government basis as doing so would breach the law, a top environment official reiterated yesterday.

"Disclosing whose concession a certain hot spot is in would amount to disclosing a concession map," Dr Nur Masripatin, director-general of climate change at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, told The Straits Times.

"That is classified information. The government cannot do that," said Dr Nur, who is in charge of overseeing efforts to contain forest and land fire and reports to Environment and Forestry Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar.

Asean previously agreed to create a regional haze-monitoring system, with a computer system developed by Singapore that uses satellite images and hot-spot data to pinpoint fires that lead to haze.

Last year, Indonesia finally ratified the 2002 Asean Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution, and Singapore passed a transboundary haze law that can convict individuals or companies that cause haze.

Progress on the haze-monitoring system has been slow as it awaits the concession maps from Indonesia and Malaysia to identify which companies are responsible for the land plots where fires occur.

One problem is that these companies generally do not share concession boundary data and the Indonesian government has struggled to create accurate concession maps.

Another issue is that Indonesian laws ban the government from sharing concession maps, according to Indonesian officials.

Dr Nur's comments echoed those of her minister, who, in a Batam Pos article on Aug 10, said Indonesia cannot accept other countries prosecuting its people.

In that article, Ms Siti Nurbaya was quoted as saying: "Clearly, we reject their request. Because the country must protect its citizens and people. Would we allow our people to be judged by another country?"

Ms Siti Nurbaya suggested instead a channel between countries with inter- country consensus.

On her country's position, she said: "I said that Indonesia has its own laws, especially laws about the transparency of public information. Not all information can be disclosed, what more be passed on to another country."

Ms Siti Nurbaya's comments are perceived to have deviated from a recent agreement among Asean environment ministers to share information on a government-to-government basis so as to help identify plantation companies responsible for causing haze.

But Dr Nur said the ministers' meeting late last month did not say or agree that the Ministerial Steering Committee (MSC) countries would have to disclose any information related to the concession maps. However, she argued that Indonesia was not backtracking on its commitments, saying that the ministers had agreed to share information related to hot spots.

"It is not mandatory. We are encouraged to share information on hot spots, which could be hot spots where we have verified on the ground that (there is indeed fire). The MSC will work and come up with a format on how information can be shared," she said.

When asked how a hot spot is identified if there is no information on the concession or where it is located, she said: "We could use coordinates. We will have a format on how information can be shared."

Dr Nur stressed that Indonesia is committed to imposing deterrent sentences on those responsible for illegal burning. "Each time there is fire, we look into it and see if there is any law being breached. We will then prosecute," she said.

Yeah I can try and do that one day but usually at night occupied by the kid so don't know when's "the day" :s13:

The NAP620i outlet is 22.5x9cm, so theoretically it needs to push something like 25km/h for 500m3/hr. I remembered measuring something like 19+km/h in the "blind spot" to 24+km/h max when I first got the machine. So yeah, maybe 450-ish m3/hr or thereabouts when new. You know how marketing will see "451" as "500" and still not wrong about it coz they don't specify the significant figure :p

I wanted to do a measurement again just now but my anemometer battery flat :s22:

It's very easy to use, only needs 2 mins to learn. My 22 mths old son knows how to use it and control (on/off, switch fan speed). He switches it on and puts to max fan when I close the door and switches on the aircon. Same for the MBR Sharp KC-840 and LG PS-S209.

Just spray with water, like how you'd wash an aircon filter.

How often do you guys wash it? I've only been using for about a week and there's quite a thick coat of dust already :vijayadmin:

Get this Amazon Basics 9V Alkaline. Supposed to be 3 years shelf life.
I have 8 boxes. :s22: For my 20 photoelectric and ionisation smoke alarms in my home and parents home ba....

http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...pebp=1440605795846&perid=1YC9Y1VYNH5K424TSN4Y

Pls do the measurement when you are free.

19-24kph, 23x9cm outlet. I guesstimate it's hgh 300s to 400m3/hr. Still a great performer if you buy for $250 BNIB on carousell/gumtree, be it the 611 or 620. But it'd be quite loud at that level (spec is 50dB). Still, much better than the Xiaomi.

But as you can see, gumtree/carousell no more good deals nowadays. Wrong timing for those looking liao.

About 2-4 weeks. Wah, you live beside a roadside? Expressway? Construction site?

You can also vacuum it.

Found batt for my anemometer. Pics in previous page.

Yeah kinda loud, but my NAP620i is for the kitchen area, so it's not too bad. It acts as a sort of "prefilter" as the kitchen is the most leaky area to prevent too much dirty air from reaching the living room area.

Seems like the NAP611/620 filter dimensions are 350x265x25mm for the HEPA portion. See if I can confirm on the depth later.

19-28kph is very high vs the LG/Samsung.

I blocked up part of the vent area of the LG PSR-459/LG LA-379SB so that I get 23x9 (from 33 x 9) and got 20kph. The official spec is 318 m3/hr (they officially gave an X m3/min spec)

20kph = 12.4mph

But one must still deduct away that white coloured part of the outlet that does not flow any air, maybe that's 20% off. 0.8 * 414 = 331 m3/hr
If it's 25% off, then 0.75 * 414 = 310 m3/hr
If it's 15% off, then 0.85 * 414 = 351 m3/h

I believe the Novita 620/611 is like 40 to even close to 50% deduction for the same 29 x 3cm area.
19-28kph, lets say we take it to be an avg of 23.5kph which works out to be 14.9mph. So yeah I think it's 490m3/hr.
Just that, deducting 40-50% = 240-295 m3/hr

But seriously, I am not sure how that white part that's not flowing air affects the whole picture for the measurements. We just know that it affects the area (23cm x 9cm). Windspeed should be legit.

Still have to test it out vs another air purifier with a laser particle counter, best. :D

Definitely capable of causing haze here with SE-SSE winds in the next 2-3 days.

PM10 ug/m3. PM2.5 just deduct approx. 20-40% for very rough approx

AQI 535 peak. PM10 = 631 ug/m3. PM2.5 I'd guesstimate to be in the mid 400s ug/m3.

The above Hitachi A3000 is capable of purifying those new BTO very small bedrooms of 3.2 x 2.7m x 2.8m. After adding furnitures, it shd be ~ 20 m3.

So 100m3/hr div 20m3 = 5 ACH in medium speed. Put into High speed for the first 20-30 mins, after that switch to medium speed.

$70, Made in Japan workhorse. Where to find. Power consumption a little high though. Similar spec LG PS-S209 is 18W for the same spec. :D

Buy one for your grandmother's usage during haze months. Won't go wrong. Daily 12hrs usage might be a bit siong on the electrical bills in the long run. The diff between this and the LG PS-S209 for 12hrs daily 365 operation = $28 per year, or 142 for 5 years.

PS. Still got remote!
