Just curious: is "PSI" a pollutant or an index? Because I was browsing the AQICN site & somewhere there it says, "primary pollutant: PSI"...

maybe it called Pollutant Standards Index

http://www.e101.gov.sg/haze/info.htm

Another our gov website

What about children? Children's N95 masks are not available.
The N95 masks that are currently available have not been designed by the manufacturer for use in children. Further, to be effective, N95 masks need to maintain a well-fitted seal at all times, which may be difficult to achieve in young children. In addition, young children may find it uncomfortable to wear a tight-fitting mask and will very likely adjust the mask that is worn, reducing the effectiveness of the mask.

Although certain types of N95 masks are being offered for sale for young children, their claims of effectiveness have not been verified by the relevant authorities such as the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) or Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA).

While older children (e.g. upper secondary school and above) may be able to fit the smaller sized N95 masks for adults, please note that the mask manufacturers do not certify effectiveness of the mask for this group. (Based on height and weight data of Singaporean children, an average upper secondary child is similar in size to a small-sized adult.) Older children with chronic heart and lung disease should not be using N95 masks without medical (paediatric specialist) advice.

Children should avoid outdoor activity when air quality is in the hazardous range ( PSI>300).

Saw this... What do the Air+ do to the children and outdoor activity for children and rest if hit above 200 should either reduced or stopped already... by the time it reach more than 300... u already breath in alot already :s22: :(

Now is holiday period in korea...What do you expect... The earliest date that they can ship out is on 01 October...

I expect that we as a community can share information freely.

Some may hope to receive their items earlier when ordering.

seems like everyone is buying the AX40. Is it really good as compare to Sharp KC-D40? Any reviews?

Samsung would be much strong AP, just without humidifier for AC room, also at that price you can afford the quality of air.

If you need not humidifier then go for samsung should be much sufficient for your room.

For me I can't without humidifier for my AC bedroom, so I was still thinking Ins't wanna to get extra Ax40 for living room.. :D

Just ordered an AX40 last night from Goni global to supplement my current setup.

Bro Wuss, is the Virus Doctor function safe to use? I'm concerned about ozone, if any is produced.

I have an idea to remove the musty smell from used HEPAs.

Hydrogen peroxide (3%) or isopropyl alcohol (70%).
Pour either solution into spray bottle, spray lightly onto intake side of the filter. That's it.

Both H2O2 and isopropyl alcohol (aka rubbing alcohol) are safe disinfectants traditionally used to kill bacteria, mold and mildew. So, in theory they should work.
H2O2 breaks down into H2O and O2. Alcohol evaporates, leaving behind 30% water.
Both are cheap and are sold in any pharmacy.

The only possible problem is water residue on the HEPA. I'm thinking the tiny amount of water should not damage the HEPA. Water eventually evaporates. Isopropyl alcohol should be less "wet" compared to H2O2, which is basically 97% water.

I can't test whether it works, cos my HEPA is still very new. What u guys think?

http://www.etronin.com/home

this store no more AP... All Sharp AP gone...left a gap in the store... Boss was looking at the gap... maybe thinking when the stock will came in...

If u need more AP at physical stores... need to find on your own...

Maybe T.S Yong Trading store still have...can reserve a copy through PM at Facebook...:s12:=:p

https://www.facebook.com/tsyongtrading

uvex masks able to store for 3 years... if the original packages not damage...

relative humidity of less than 80% and temperatures of between –30 °C and +70 °C.

The half masks must be protected against aggressive chemicals, moisture and soiling.
