Oh, I already have 200W transformer. In your previous post http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/84200780-post151.html, you mentioned AirGenius consumes alot of power and requires 500W to be safe...

I guess I mixed up with the others. Some honeywells are energy guzzlers and the noise to CADR is not as good. The Airgenius range are great. They are energy star certified.

Generally, for safety's sake coz you'd be using during your sleeping time (or even use in children's room), spec the transformer to be 5X.

Just found out that the device consumes 40 Watts, so 200W transformers is just enough. :)

Thanks for your help!

Should be great with a true 200 watter.

COmpare yours with the Honeywell 50150. It gives a CADR or 150 (yours is 161) but consumes 130W. Its 56W in low, 90W in medium. Does 57dB with a CADR of 150.

The difference in medium is around 65W? That's 0.216 dollars per day in electrical bill difference.

PS. With a voltage transformer efficiency of say 85%, between pdts operating with a transformer and w/o a transformer (240V pdts), you can times 1.15 to that.

For your Honeywell AirGenius 5, 200W with PSB safety sticker. Safety sticker is mandatory IMO. Then you don't have to worry about the brand, coz its bee tested before. It's as good as it gets.

The good thing is that the AirGenius 5 has low power consumption. Only 40W. CADR of 161. It's very energy efficienct, as good as the Sharps.

You pay a bit more compared to say the Honeywell 50150/50250, but extended daily operation would easily earn back in your Singpower bill in less than 6 months (if left in high mode drawing 40W 12hrs a day, it's 27 cents per day savings - you do the math if in medium etc). They also claim whisper quite operation.

Hi WussRedXLi, I bought the 50250 and a 750w transformer. Looking to buy another purifier, AirGenius sounds good but it is not hepa certified right? also amazon reviews say got ozone smell. you using this model currently? how is it.

With the amount you guys paying for shipping plus transformer, couldn't you get a decent sharp unit?

Last year haze time despo... Even display/demo units were sold out... Since then, I've gotten local Philips and Sharp for all bedrooms... My 50250 solely takes care of the living room now.

I bought a Novita 611i air purifier and novita NAS 300 air sterilizer. Not sure if these 2 devices can place in the same location operating? Heard if so, the air sterilizer NAS 300 will damage the 611i sensor. Anyone can advice?
