Anyone plan to start sourcing for air purifier again?

Preferred those true hepa air filter type

Here is the research of the HEPA air filter results on the market.

The green colour results, higher better.

  • Smart Air Original: filters 99.9% of PM0.3; CADR unknown; covers 11-20 m2
  • Air-O-Swiss P320: filters 99.97% of PM0.3; CADR 86 m3/h, covers 16 m2
  • Panasonic F-30C3PD-D: filters 99% of PM0.3 and 89% formaldehyde; CADR 163 m3/h, covers 30 m2
  • Philips AC4025: filters 91.2% of PM0.3 & 95% formaldehyde; CADR 127 m3/h, covers 20 m2
  • Xiaomi: filters 99.3% of PM0.3 & 91% formaldehyde; CADR 406 m3/h, covers 48 m2

According to the results, Xiaomi and Philips are worth to buy.

1. Some one selling the filter for fan to clean the air for $19.90. The one will block the air follow, and cannot filter the air. Totally a scam.

2. HEPA standard filter cannot be washed. Best filter has the Active Carbon filter inside to absorb the unhealthy air. Same as the military gas mask, the filter of the gas mask is one time use element, and need replace after using a well.

The PM 0.3 things will stick on the filter net. Water cannot clean it.The washable filter is just like the aircon, and worse than aircon because the aircon can cooling the air, but air filter cannot.

If you look at the philips advanced model and Xiaomi, the filter need replace not washable.

Your link does not make any sense to the claims of test results as your link is directed to tge 1030am.com store which sells the xiaomi at a markup price of $338 and on pre-order...

It's a link bait. Should report to mod and remove the link to the website. Just trying to use this forum (lots of AP reference) to improve the site's search ranking.

I see...I already knew something was not right when he only mentioned Xiaomi and Phillips whereas if it is a real test, Honeywell, Sharp, Samsung and LG would also be in the test before coming to a conclusion...That is a narrow comparison and is not a true indicator...might as well claim to test xiaomi air purifier and the 3m filterete on air con to come up with a conclusion that the xiaomi they are selling at a markup is better...

Hi

Any bros can help me confirm if the TCL 260A is the same product as Novita NAP 611i ??

Which means NAP 611i users can also order replacement filters from Taobao too .

Thanks

does anyone know how the dust sensor work on AX40? I will assume it will trigger the alarm when there is dust covered the sensor.

Just went to courts nex & best denki junction 8. Neither has philips air purifier. Am looking for the $799 model recently advertised. Are philips purifiers that hard to find or just all sold out?

very tempted to buy Xiaomieven tot I very happy with AX40 but wife say NO...she said house got 2 AP , once haze over no place to keep :s13:

Was tempted too to buy the Xiaomi too but a little put off by the way they so blatantly copied the Balmuda's Air Engine. Even copied the manner it is advertised.

Anyway I wrote to some folks who owned both and all have said the Balmuda is better (quieter operation and stronger air flow). Besides, who knows how reliable is the Xiaomi's motor. Another annoying part is the Xiaomi's filter is difficult to come by.

Hi wuss

Cant seem to find any info if the Novita is a re-branded TCL.

Thanks!

The Novita models use better DC motors. Energy saving.

That's why you can see some brand's model doing 65W 330 m3/hr and another brand doing 25-30W 330 m3/hr.
Or the Novita 620/611 doing close to 500 m3/hr (I think Chuanz measured to be about there) and only consuming 55W....or 20 W for 300 m3/hr?

A difference of ~ 30W, daily usage, 5 years, nets you ~ $250 savings.
Is no joke when I am in charge of operating 4 air purifiers daily in my hse and my parent's (due to kids, and parents are elderly and are caregiver for the kids) and that's inclusive of non-haze months. Think long term.

That's why I recommend stuff like AX40 (27W), PS-R459 (35W), Sharp models etc. DC motors. The longer you use, the more you save.

Guess what, I took a peep at the NAP620i DC motor and it looks strikingly similar... to the one in AX40! The one in AX40 is rated 31W but the one in NAP620i rated 20W (which is the spec'ed wattage for high).

I just bought an high density ac filter for my xiaomi ap for $40 from qoo10 after all the coupons. I don't see how difficult it is to get spare filters.

if people can buy ax40 from qoo10 why can't that find the filters for xiaomi filters?

So it's rated for 50W+ in the Novita 620? 350mm x 245mm is ok if can squeeze in 45mm depth.
