Good if at 26 watt, it deliver the promised airflow despite the label stating a 34 watt rating.

Bad if it is lying about its specs... perhaps caused by using a slower lower wattage motor, then the air flow will be lower too.

But I don't have a point of reference except this single sample, hopefully others with a watt meter can test it and compare.

Interesting. After reading your result, I retest AX40 without filter and the power consumed shot up to 52 watt. So the filter condition does affect the motor.

Yeah. That was my concern as well. Logically at face value, lower is better but if other rated specs ended up lower then not good. Hence asking.

I realised i have a watt meter as well. But have not learn how to use it :o

Thanks to Mikl1984 post, I have since retested the AX40 without the filter and it shot up to 52 watt. So the question is how/what does Samsung spec their 34 watt number on??

Watt meter no need to learn, just plug in and see. Good to have some other comparisons.

The good thing is that the AX40 is amongst the quietest in its class, probably the most quiet.

Forget about the changing colour, it indicates the air quality. It's not very sensitive/accurate. Most people do not have a use for wanting to know the air quality. An extremely sensitive laser particle counter can be gotten starting from RMB 218-239.

Meaning it's normal?
But the smell is really awful... smelled of machinery and perhaps dust.. to me.

I took out the filter, on AP and tried again.. no smell.... then again, unsure if it's because i kena flu today so cannot smell well.

Anyway, am airing and sunning the filter.
Hope the smell will go away like what those xiami buyers said.
